Just quick post,

while I wait for Carol to pack, then I'll be taking her to the airport after a fantastic weekend, that went by way too fast. We saw 'W', the movie, and I gotta admit I was very much surprised by the way Oliver Stone made him look. I came away with a more sympathetic view of the guy, even though he has screwed us all, 'big time'. He may have done it with good motives, but just stupid tactics, who knows. I still see him as a shill of Big Oil and the military machine, but maybe he was more of a pawn, being used by the Cheney-Rumsfeld crew, rather than actively leading us 'down the path'. Who knows. Bottom line, these last 8 years have been a disaster that we will paying for, for a long time. Was just kinda surprised by Stone's take on it. Was expecting a more critical view of the cowboy conman....

Hmmm. Interesting. We were wondering whether to see it or not. Glad you had a good time with Carol!

I've read many critiques of the movie, some good and others left me with a sense that Stone could have done more with the movie. Either way, Bush was bought and paid for through the Republican cesspool 8 years ago to do exactly what he has done 1)bring war because war jumpstarts the economy-- in this instance it only brought us to ruin. 2)bring wealth to the uber rich Republicans, which it did. 3)Attempt to put the US in the Middle East permanently by attacking Iraq, take control of the oil, take control of the citizens, install a military base in Iraq.

McCain has had 26 years in Congress to "Fix" things, to change the status quo, to be the one to get things done for the good of America. Why hasn't he? Why has he voted 90% of the time with Bush? Why has it taken him 26 long years to become this so called Maverick? 26 years and out of touch with the average citizen. That is the problem we have with our elected officals who are in office too long. They lose track of reality. I think 9 houses are 8 houses too many.
