Many folks who didn't vote must have been content with the way things were and didn't want to change them. The unemployment rate below 5.8 percent ..., interest rates below 4 percent, the Dow over 17,000, gas prices below $3, health insurance available to all. We're getting out of Iraq. Most of us bought big screen TVs and new cars. But the old saying, "evil men will succeed if good men do nothing" also applies to elections.
All you folks out there who didn't vote will see in the next two years what (you) have indirectly caused. The Republicans will control the Senate and House. I predict the following and will make a wager with any Republican who is willing:
1. Unemployment rates, now approximately 5.8 percent, will increase mainly because corporate CEOs cajoled by the Republicans have less pressure to maintain their working middle class and they will want more profits so they will create more layoffs.
2. Interest rates for homes and other financial groups currently below 4 percent will increase, because regulations and rules will be compromised to allow banks, mortgage companies and other financial institutions to raise rates for more profits. In addition you can expect interest rates on college loans to increase That's what they do when the government doesn't watch them and the Republican majority will write bills to remove regulations.
3. Gas prices will creep up again. Somehow the Republican majority, heavily influenced by (oil and gas) companies will either encourage a war, (Syria, Iraq again, Iran, or Afghanistan), which will escalate gas prices again and create more profits for war equipment manufacturing, war contracts, etc., etc. Bush and Cheney, both oil apostles, and the war in Iraq are a great example of that.
4. The Dow is now over 17,000. It will drop, because our economy will drop from the shenanigans caused by the relaxation or canceling of regulations and rules so they can profit the top 1 percent.
5. The Republican majority will stifle, retard or cancel the gains made by the EPA. So you can expect greenhouse gases to increase and along with more tornadoes, hurricanes and unbearable weather . Republicans still don't believe carbon exhausts create global warming.
6. Insurance premiums will increase. They will be less regulated with the Republican majority. Insurance giants will take more control. The Republicans have long waited to cause havoc to the ACA (Obamacare). If premiums increase they will blame it all on Obama.
7. American gun deaths will increase over 33,000 (more than annual auto deaths) The NRA and Republicans will continue to tout the Second Amendment. Gun regulations will subside, and we'll all be able to hear gunshots in our neighborhoods. But the NRA or Republicans won't care because more guns sales adds to their coffers.
Evil men will succeed if good men do nothing.

SO, wingnuts, how much you wanna bet?
