Have been doing a bit of research after returning from Scandinavia,

where we found ZERO worshippers as we passed many small town churches on a Sunday morning and found ZERO worshippers.
WIN/Gallup International poll conducted in 2014 revealed that nearly eight out of 10 Swedes are either "not religious" or "convinced atheists," making the country one of the least religious nations in the Western world. "It's a little bit surprising because we have a lot of members," Gunnar Sjöberg, head of communication for the Swedish Church, told The Local.

Norway has even less ‘religious’ people and the numbers are dropping each year.
This didn’t make sense to me, with about fifty percent being members of the church although they don’t believe in God, until I researched WHY.

It seems that if you are a church member, you can use the building, for get togethers, incl funerals, or any kind of public/community/ political gathering.
You are also allowed to be buried in their cemeteries.
So, although church membership is at nearly half the population, believers are a small minority (less than one in six, mostly the old), and falling in numbers.

At least the facts now make sense to me, cuz I really don’t like things that just don’t make sense, like most Swedes.....
