No, it’s not the Onion.  And it’s not the National Lampoon either.  And it’s not April Fools’ Day.  The Trumpian culture war against “woke” has made it down to font types.  No offending “wokeism” is too small or too inconsequential for these rabid culture warriors to hunt down and destroy.

 

This level of overweening fanaticism is a signature hallmark of true authoritarians.  They need to pee on absolutely every fire hydrant in creation until their mania for dominance and control is satisfied.

 

And no, it’s not funny.  It’s frightening.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio called the Biden-era move to the sans serif typeface “woke” casting the return to Times New Roman as part of a push to stamp out diversity efforts.
