Am watching 60 Minutes,

that I DVR'd, and can see that I am not the only one who is concerned about our financial future, as nearly all the states, like the Fed gov't, are about to go broke.  Like a slow motion train wreck, as their outgo WAY exceeds their income.  It IS gonna happen, and the only question is, how soon, and how are they gonna cope? One year? Two years? The fed gov't has bailed out the states, with printed money, but even that is gonna end, SOON, and then we all gotta face reality. Will be VERY interesting, as gov'ts have to face financial reality, after the Bush administration wrecked our economy.

I have read that most governments last around 200 years before falling and ours is about that old at this point, so I am not at all surprised.
We have become a nation of, to be blunt, whores. Our government has prostituted itself for years in the form of NAFTA, Deregulation, Homeland Security, OPEC, Guantanamo, Iraq, Bay of Pigs,...the list is endless.
Todate, we are a laughing stock to our neighbors around the world and are trusted by not even Isreal.
Does the average citizen have respect for Congress or the President? I think not.
This country is broke, financially and spiritually. I doubt it can be fixed.

So you people think Bush wrecked the country just because he was the president when everything crashed?

"You people" eh? History must not be your forte. OPEC's existence began in the 1960s. I don't believe Bush had anything to do with that, possibly his father, but not Dubya. NAFTA was under the Clinton administration; Deregulation under Reagan; Bay of Pigs, Kennedy; Iraq, the first Bush, as Saddam marched to Kuwait and then sonny boy retaliated because Pappa Bush was threatened by the thief of Bagdad. Guantanamo, Homeland Security can rest on Dubya's shoulders. See there's enough blame for the downfall of American government to go around, Anon. Now, ain't cha proud to wave the old red, white and blue? Nero fiddled while Rome burned. We just sit on our collective asses and reelect 'em.
