The Forest Service not reorganizing, it is dismantling, says the Forest Service Workers Union.

The NFFE union has called on Congress to block the administration’s recently announced reorganization of the U.S. Forest Service, saying that “in reality this is not a reorganization; it is a dismantling of a 121-year-old institution that manages 193 million acres of public land, an area larger than the state of Texas.”

The recently announced plan includes among other things eliminating regional offices, closing of research facilities.
