The president’s deferment history and mistakes during a midterm speech mitigated his outrageous boast.

President Donald Trump said Sunday he would have won the Vietnam War in a week during a mistake-riddled boast that invited further scorn because of his draft-dodging in the conflict ― in which he received deferments for alleged bone spurs in his heels.

In his bloviating rant Sunday, Trump seemed to require assistance from the Dubuque, Iowa, rally crowd to come up with “Agent Orange” and mixed up Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

  President Donald Trump’s diesel deal with Russia would supply the global market with 4.8 million metric tons, or nearly 36 million barrels total.  This is equivalent to a little more than a single day of global demand.  The U.S. is a net diesel exporter so it does not need Russian supply, said Andy Lipow, president of Lipow Oil Associates. Goldman Sachs estimated the initial Russian release would only reduce wholesale diesel prices by $1 to $2 per barrel, which is currently at approximately $200/barrel.
