Hegseth To Reduce Military Generals, Admirals By Up To 20%: Reports Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth will soon announce a reduction in force of up to 20% of generals and admirals, according to reports from  Fox News  and  The Washington Post . The announcement could come as early as Wednesday, when Hegseth is set to meet with military officers in Quantico, Va. Fox News reported that some officers will be placed in downgraded positions rather than cut entirely. Since taking office in January 2025, Hegseth has pledged to transform military leadership and has already carried out numerous firings.

WASHINGTON ― After having claimed dozens of times during the spring and summer that his war against Iran was effectively over and that he had won it, President  Donald Trump  is now admitting that neither assertion was true. For the second time in as many days, Trump on Monday said his war that began seven months ago today is still ongoing. “We’re going to win that war very soon,” he told reporters during an Oval Office photo opportunity.

  Deputies from the Boulder County Sheriff's Office arrested a former member of their department on Monday after he allegedly made a distress call to emergency dispatch overnight. Tyler Reilly is charged with shooting at multiple police cars outside the Broomfield police building and also firing a rifle at the Boulder sheriff's headquarters, where he was taken into custody. He allegedly went to the Broomfield Police Department first and fired bullets at parked police cruisers outside. After daybreak on Monday, some of those vehicles at the department, which is located at 7 Descombes Drive, could be seen with shattered windows and flat tires. Broomfield is outside of Boulder County and has its own police force. The sheriff's office says Reilly then traveled to the headquarters of the Boulder County Sheriff's Office at 5600 Flatiron Parkway in Boulder. A news release from the department says he had an AR‑15-style rifle and fired multiple shots at the front of the building...
