There’s an article about Trump in the new Rolling Stone, that everyone should read.

 My buddy Dave’s partial description includes:

Trump sees the entire world as an endless opportunity to threaten to “burn it all down” (whether by arbitrary and punitive tariffs, obscenely frivolous lawsuits, bribery, blackmail or blunt force military action) unless he gets his way.  And an opportunity to get fabulously rich off the mobster’s omnivorous blackmail and graft in the process.  That’s why he so openly admires other mob bosses like Putin, Xi, Kim, Erdogan, Bukele, et al.  Those are his “fellow mobsters” who operate in a world absent any principles other than raw power.  A world that Trump sees as his oyster to be plundered and subverted to gratify his ego and fatten his wallet.

 

We no longer live in a democracy – or even in a teetering, exhausted republic.  We now live under the Black Hand of Trump’s “family business” - run by a ruthless and psychopathic mobster who sees the entire nation (not to mention the larger world) as his personal fiefdom to be bent to his capricious whims and pathological Will to Power.  America is now a mobbed-up dictatorship – with the Dear Leader fully in charge and no one person nor institution on the planet remaining with the power to challenge his unilateral usurpation of what used to be “We the People”.

Saw a good movie yesterday,

that really showed how fast time flies. Argo is about the hostage crisis in Iran, 33 years ago, and has a bit of history at the the beginning, that most of us have forgotten, as in WHY the Iranian people were SO pissed off at Americans. In 1953, the popularly elected president of Iran was replaced by the Shah of Iran, in a coup directed and financed by the CIA and the US, to protect America's Big Oil interests, much the same way Saddam Hussein was installed in Iraq. The shah, like Hussein, was a despot who tyrannized the people and looted the treasury. When he was overthrown, in a populist revolution, he fled to the US, but the Iranians wanted to put him on trial. Hence, the Iranian mobs took out their anger on the US embassy and it's workers. Argo, based on a true story, tells how Hollywood helped smuggle six Americans back home, with a fake movie. Good flick that explained a lot about why 'they hate us' over there, and brought back many memori...

I'm not a Bible scholar,

so I don't know if it's tue, but I read that Paul, the 'founder' of Christianity, author of the Gospel of John, and the most prolific writer of the New Testament, never referred to a virgin birth, in ANY of his writings. Neither did Mark, the first of the apostles to write a Gospel. Matthew was the first to add it to the story. Furthermore, they referred to Jesus as being of the lineage of David, to fulfill an Old Testament prophecy, BUT, the lineage is from Joseph, his father(?). Pretty interesting, I think, and doesn't make sense to me, but I'm just a logical, rational person, not a Bible scholar. Am I just 'misinformed'?
