Unbelievable, but typical

Image
story in (Fair and Balanced) FOXNews today, where over 99% of their 'news' is pro Romney/anti Obama. They bitch about a news source being 'biased'.  Really? They claim the New York Times favors Obama in it's coverage. Are you kidding me? These jerks calling calling someone else biased? Laughing my ass off.....

Don't do many jokes here, but

Image
GOD is talking to Adam in the garden of eden, about the creation of a woman. GOD; Adam how would you like to have a woman to live with you in the garden? ADAM;What is a woman? GOD;A creature like you but much prettier and she'll cook for you, clean for you, keep you healthy, give you children, take care of you and never ever give any problems and please you in ways you could never ever imagine,But It will cost you...Alot ADAM; How much? GOD;An Arm and a Leg! ADAM;taking a moment to think it through and after a long pause, he asks GOD, WHAT CAN I GET FOR A RIB??? more jokes at dailyjokes

Again, we're reminded

Image
as Obama takes care of business after the hurricane, Bill Clinton is out there, doing constant campaigning, while GWBush sits on his ass in Texas. Why? We all know. The Pubs don't want anyone reminded what it was like the last time they were in charge. Many have already forgotten, but most remember only too well...

Another great day on the golf course,

Image
today. Perfect Colorado weather, good friends, good times, AND, they had special prices on pitchers, at the 19th hole. The hot tub, under the full moon was a nice finish. 'Tis a privelege to live in Colorado....

As we go from,

Image
record droughts in the west this year, to an unprecedented storm in the east, that built over water that was 5 degrees warmer than normal, I just wonder how the  Repubs can continue to deny that there is a problem. As long as there is a FOXNews, who totally lied about "Saddam caused 9-11", (and 75% of the FOXNews crowd believed their crap), and as long as Big Oil uses their big money to control the news, we will have the sheep saying, 'Yup, tell me what to think", and they'll think it. Couldn't be more obvious.

In the Romney/Repub world,

each state would have to deal with this latest disaster alone, with private funds, which would be devastating, BUT, that's the Romney world, that the Pubs embrace. Are you kidding me? I would only hope these jerks would have to live the reality they would create with the Mittster, who doesn't have a clue, as in how to deal with the real world, when real people need real help.

Some things never change,

as Romney tells blatant lies, concerning Chrysler moving Jeep production to China, No way. Ain't gonna happen, according to all the brass at Chrysler. It's just Romney lying again, to change the message that he would have killed auto production in the US. The sheep may believe it, but no one with a functioning brain does, which leaves out the FOX crowd.

As a news junkie and stormchaser,

I am drawn to TV coverage of the big storm hitting the East Coast, and my fav spot to watch coverage is an 8 channel split/screen 'News Mix', on DirectTV, and am able to switch between coverages. As a result, I am again amazed by FOXNews, with their mix of 'real' news, continually infused with Repub propaganda. Amazing, how they use the current situation, whatever it may be, to put their particular slant on the news. Who else would have Karl Rove doing hurricane coverage? At least they are consistent, totally unlike their candidate, Mr Etch a Sketch.

Am driving to Moab, Utah soon,

Image
and it''ll take over 6 hours, but this Utube video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C5A2MHUsEL0  shows the journey in approx 5 minutes. Am hoping it's not snowing on the passes, but we have a good vehicle, even if it is.

It's just one more

Image
of Mitt's flip flops. In June 2011, Mitt Romney said in a Republican primary debate that he “absolutely” thinks FEMA should be shut down, and disaster relief moved to the states. Now, he's claiming he didn't say that, as it's obvious what a disaster that would be, in a situation like 'Frankenstorm'. Nothing new here, he'll say WHATEVER he thinks his current audience wants to hear. C'mon Dems, get this stuff 'out there', for the voters to see/hear.

Good quote,

and SO true, "We averted the Great Depression, but it muddied the narrative. It allowed Romney to blame Obama for the mess the previous administration created." So obvious, to anyone that looks at reality...

Looking back,

it was a great weekend. Started with making 43 caramel apples (mostly Carol) for Kari's school Halloween party, where I dressed as Frank N Stein and had fun scaring the kiddies (and some adults). Great job Kari. Then, we met Ted and Kari for brunch in Golden with Keith, Mikael's new hubby, who's a great guy, and his buddy Gordon. Then it was on to Old Fart's bowling, where a wonderful time was had by all, and no one was seriously injured, unlike last time. Sunday was hot tub and football, with the Bronc's kicking Saint's butt. Altogether, a great weekend.

WOW

Image
great stat tonight as I watch the Broncos beat the Saints. In the fourth quarter this year, the Broncs have outscored the opposition 89-6. That's big-time crunch time. Gee, I sure miss Tebo, who was a winner lately, in a fan poll, as the most over-rated player in the NFL. No doubt...

If I was still in the disaster business,

Image
as a 'hired gun' insurance adjuster, I'd be getting ready to travel, cuz I think this latest 'Frankenstorm' is gonna be HUGE. I don't miss the stress, and all the crap you gotta go through, dealing with  a major disaster, BUT, it was kinda exciting, in a strange way. Am guessing this is gonna be a big one....

I'm totally amazed,

Image
that the Dems haven't seized the issue of what Mitt, as a Mormon, professes to believe. The guy that could be in charge of the most powerful country on earth, believes the writings of Joseph Smith, who says Jewish tribes came to America, thousands of years ago, and the angel Moroni led Joseph to solid gold tablets that they left, with a whole bunch of strange laws, BUT, unfortunately he lost them, before anyone else could see them. Mitt's ancestors helped build the church, based on polygamy and racism, along with rules from the 'lost' golden tablets and magic undergarments. Are you kidding me? This guy, with his beliefs, who's never had a beer or a cup of coffee, could lead the free world, if the Pubs have their way. Wow....

Good times last night,

Image
when Tammie treated us all (12) to bowling and beer, as an excuse to get together and have fun, which we did. The good news? Nobody got hurt this time, unlike the twisted knees, sore backs and bruises, last time. I'm sure they missed us when we left, at Chippers, cuz we had a good party goin'.

The Pubs have quit

asking, 'Are you better off now than you were 4 years ago?', for good reason. Because it made us remember what it was like 4 years ago, after 8 years of Bush and the Republicans. The stock market was crashing, after the worst one day loss in history. Home values were tanking, along with employment, with two wars going on, and Bush was writing over $800 Billion in checks, just to keep us from total collapse. SO, the Repubs don't ask that question any more, cuz everyone that answers truthfully says YES, we're definitely better off. It's a slow fix, for a HUGE problem, but we're gradually coming back from the Repub mess. Why would anyone want to go back to the same crew that wrecked us?

Oh Really?

Image
Colin Powell's former chief of staff condemned the Republican Party on Friday night, saying, "My party is full of racists." Retired Army Col. Lawrence Wilkerson made the comment in response to Mitt Romney campaign surrogate John Sununu's suggestion on Thursday that Powell's endorsement of President Barack Obama's re-election was motivated by race . Wilkerson, who served as Powell's chief of staff when the general was secretary of state during the first George W. Bush term, said, My party, unfortunately, is the bastion of those people -- not all of them, but most of them -- who are still basing their positions on race. Let me just be candid: My party is full of racists, and the real reason a considerable portion of my party wants President Obama out of the White House has nothing to do with the content of his character, nothing to do with his competence as commander-in-chief and president, and everything to do with the color of his skin, and that's...

The race for prez

is tight, obviously, and as we wind down to the last few days (thank God), this site gives 'up to the minute' poll numbers in the battleground states. http://elections.nytimes.com/2012/swing-state-tracker?nl=todaysheadlines&emc=edit_th_20121026

If you ever needed to know

Image
specifics about the Repub views toward women, it is right here. If a woman wants to have a baby, through invitro fertilization, she CAN'T. If she doesn't want to have a baby from rape, she MUST. Thank you, Pubs. And these are the people that are gonna make the laws? Wow....

There are only two polls,

Image
that have never been wrong, in predicting the presidency. One is the 7-11 coffee cup poll, that has Obama WAY ahead, and the other isn't really a poll, but is where real money meets hype, as in Las Vegas, and world-wide betting sites, that have Obama as a 2-1 favorite. We'll see.  PS. Look out for Karl Rove (nick-named 'turd blossom' by GW) Super Pac money, and an explosion of Repub lies, that seem to work.

Just increased our internet speed,

Image
from 6 to 20 MB, and it is nice. Bundled services, got a better price and faster speed. Seems like a win/win to me.

Frankenstorm?

Image
In what may or may not be a bunch of media hype, meteorologists are calling the collison of Hurricane Sandy, with a huge weather system moving toward the East Coast, 'The Perfect Storm'. "It's almost a weeklong, five or six-day event," Cisco said Thursday from NOAA's northern storm forecast center in College Park, Md. "It's going to be a widespread serious storm." With every hour, meteorologists are getting more confident that this storm is going to be bad and they're able to focus their forecasts more. Both private and federal meteorologists are calling this a storm that will likely go down in the history books. "We don't have many modern precedents for what the models are suggesting," Cisco said. It is likely to hit during a full moon when tides are near their highest. http://www.bostonherald.com/news/regional/view/20221025frankenstorm_shaping_up_to_slam_east_coast/srvc=home&position=0 Luckily, the 'jeniuse...

The latest whopper from Mitt and the Pubs

Image
claims that Obama hasn't worked with the 'opposition party' like Mitt has/would. Are you kidding me? The Pub clowns have set an ALL TIME (by far) record for number of fillibusters, with several months to go. These jerks wouldn't cross the aisle if their pubes were on fire and there was a swimming pool on the Dem side. This just in. The largest newspaper in (Mormon) Utah, the Salt Lake Tribune, has just endorsed Obama. Calling Mitt 'shameless' they say he has flip flopped SO many times, 'we don't know what he stands for', and his tax program doesn't add up. Wow, the biggest Mormon newspaper, supports Obama.

Colin Powell,

Image
one of the few people from GWBush's cabinet that has any credibility, said he supports Obama for president. The former general and Sec of State (R) said that Romney's views on Afghanistan, Iraq, and many domestic issues are 'a moving target', saying whatever he thinks his current audience wants to hear, and his tax plan is unrealistic. Oh REEEEEALLY....

Trying to pick,

Image
the most laughable clown in the Repub party would be VERY difficult, cuz they got SO many, but right near the top, would have to be Donald Trump. Good lines about him on the late shows last night, after he promised a HUGE announcement, that wasn't. Leno asked Obama where the animosity came from and the prez said it was from the time they were children in Kenya, and Donald got his butt kicked on the playground. Letterman said Obama would release passport details when Trump released that thing on his head. Like I said, with all the rape comments, and their string of 'leaders' in the Repub candidate process, trying to name the worst Repub clown is like trying to pick the weirdest Walmart shopper. There's just WAY TOO MANY to choose from.

Was on my way to the hot tub,

Image
last night, to enjoy the first major snowfall, when I noticed a pack of coyotes, on the fairway very near our backyard, intently looking at the neighbor's collie, through the snow. They sorta had it surrounded, and finally Beck (short for Beckham) started to bark wildly. The 'lady of the house' came out, saw what was happening, started screaming and yelling and the coyotes took off, including some that were hiding near the neighbor's fence, that I hadn't seen. BUT, one of them just hunkered down, trying to hide, and it woulda worked, but with the fresh snow, he was still visible and the 'lady' ran at him and he finally ran away. The crazy thing, about an hour later she let the dog out again. What's up? They trying to get rid of Beck?

Made it all the way

Image
to the 18th tee box yesterday, at Legacy Ridge, before my back 'gave out'. Sorta one of those, 'Help, I've fallen and can't get up', moments. Then, to make matters worse, stepped into the hot tub, soon as I got home, and, YIKES, the breaker had kicked, and the water was cold, but I was already down in it, and almost dislocated my spine trying to bounce out. Was really bummed, until Carol reminded me we do have a Jacuzzi tub in the master bath. Aaaaahhhhh..... (Yup, actual picture of me) Not really, am much more muscular.

And so it begins,

or rather, continues. As I said, we were one of 4 million households to receive a DVD in the mail, 'Dreams of My Real Father', but haven't watched it, cuz have read it's just Repub lies. The film is the work of Joel Gilbert, whose previous claims include having tracked down Elvis Presley in the witness protection program and discovering that Paul McCartney is in fact dead. Mr. Gilbert will not say where he received the money to distribute his movie — he claims to have sent out four million copies. “It’s a private company, so we don’t disclose who’s part of it,” he said.   I'll disclose. It's SuperPac money, directed by Karl Rove, and is part of the new Swift Boat campaign, where the Pubs discovered that Big Lies get Big Results, and the Repub appointed Supreme Court majority supports them, with their billionaire financing. Shameful, disgraceful, but SO Republican.

Obama had a great line today

Image
'Everything Mitt says now, is hiding his real  positions, so he can get elected'. Mr EtchaSketch (a term from his own campaign people) will parrot WHATEVER he thinks the moderate voters now want to hear, saying what seems expedient at the moment, as a professional candidate that even the Pubs hated (Anyone But Romney), until they realized the other 6 clown candidates were even worse, in comparison. Sure, turn the reins back over to the party that totally wrecked our economy, 2000-2008? You gotta be kidding...

I just realized

how Romney can be even in some polls. There are some out there, who actually answer their land line, when caller ID says, 'Blocked', or 800, and speak with the caller. This is the Romney crowd, that gets counted. Old folks, lonely Repubs and those who have nothing else going on, who love a phone call, cuz they can't actually speak with the  FOXNews anchors on their TV. Unfortunately, I know a few of them, BUT, they represent a SMALL portion of the public, and are all Romney supporters. It's why the real betting sites don't give Mitt a chance, no matter what the polls say.

Repub congressmen

Image
have it all figured out. Akin, (R)MO, says that women's bodies can prevent pregnancy from 'legitimate rape', and the Pub congressman from Indiana takes it a step further. WASHINGTON -- Indiana GOP U.S. Senate candidate Richard Mourdock declared Tuesday night he opposes aborting pregnancies conceived in rape because "it is something that God intended to happen." These are the guys that the Pubs put in office, and women have to live with. RU kidding me? Insane, but SO Republican, with the help of FOXNews.

Don't usually do jokes here,

but I like this one. Today's Joke A redneck with a bucket full of live fish was approached recently by a game warden in Central Mississippi as he started to drive his boat away from a lake. The game warden asked the man, "May I see your fishing license please?" "Naw, sir," replied the redneck. "I don't need none of them there papers. These here are my pet fish." "Pet fish?" "Yep. Once a week, I bring these here fish o'mine down to the lake and let 'em swim 'round for a while. Then when I whistle, they swim right back into my net and I take 'em home." "What a line...you're under arrest." The redneck said, "It's the truth, Mr. Gov'ment Man. I'll show ya! We do this all the time!" "WE do, now, do WE?" smirked the warden. "PROVE it!" The redneck released the fish into the lake and stood and waited. After a few minutes, the warden said, ...

Romneys defense expertise

Image
gained while he was a Mormon missionary in France showed up again, while Sarah Palin weighed in after last night's debate calling Obama 'desparate', and my fav whackjob, Ann Coulter said 'Romney was nice to the retard'. FOXNews, strikes again, or rather, Bullshit Mountain.

A really good spot

to check the actual betting odds on the US presidential race, where people actually put their money where their mouth is, UNLIKE the Pubs supporters I know. http://www.oddschecker.com/specials/politics-and-election/us-presidential-election/winner Over MOST betting sites, Obama's approx a 2/1 favorite. BUT, we can never count out Karl Rove and his fistful of crooked dollars. Am betting on another Swiftboat attack cuz the Pubs are good at the big lie and their supporters eat it up.

Had a great adventure yesterday,

Image
as we went out to the world's largest wildlife sanctuary, near Hudson, CO. http://www.wildanimalsanctuary.org/  Thanks for the idea, Denny. 720 acres with over 300 lions, tigers, bears and wolves, all rescued from bad situations and abusive owners. There is over a mile of raised walkway, where you can get close to the many animals right below you. The 'pens' are huge with each animal averaging over 2 acres, and hundreds of 'dens' for them to retire to. You can see prides of lions and packs of wolves in family groups ranging over large grasslands. Was amazed at the size of some of the big grizzlies and huge tigers.Would have gotten a lot more good pics, but my camera battery ran out. Really cool place that we will return to.

The Daily Show, last night

Image
was particularly good, with Jon doing a series of scenes from 'Bullshit Mountain', better known as FOXNews. He showed McCain reacting to Obama being on The Daily Show, saying how bad he was, an hour BEFORE TDS was broadcast. Also had a collage of dozens of names they called Obama, with lots of Socialist, Marxist, Communist, Hitler, Stalin, and a bunch of others, along with predictions from FOX (2008), what Obama would do, if elected, including, crash the stock market, round up guns, 'remove cars from rural roads' and a BUNCH of others that were ridiculous, BUT, exactly what the clowns who watch Bullshit Mountain love to hear. A gathering place for people with paranoid thoughts and no social life.

One of the better lines

Image
from the debate tonight, had to be when Romney claimed we have less ships than we had in 1916, trying to defend his 2 trillion $ in increased military spending, and Obama came back and said, 'Yeah, and we have less horses and bayonets, too. Now, we have things like aircraft carriers.' Perfect. This is getting like a knife fight in a phone booth. (Wow, nearly 200 blog hits today)

Am trying to hold on here,

Image
while Romney piles lies on top of lies, starting with Detroit and the car industry, an 'apology tour' by Obama, taking credit for education in Mass. that happened before he got there. Adding 2 trillion to the military, 5 trillion in tax cuts and paying for it it with tax loopholes BUT refusing to say what tax cuts. Who believes this crap? Who wrecked the economy that we are all paying for now? This recession didn't fall out of the sky, It was caused by Pubs who took a great economy and wrecked it. And we should give them another chance. You gotta be kidding...

A while back

Image
I posted here, and played around with, a stock (ONXX) that supposedly has some great potential as a cancer killer. I started watching, and posting on it when it was around $21, got in  and out a couple times, and ended up with a profit, BUT, missed the big jump (it is now over $80, and may go higher). Am looking at another interesting stock/product now, with symbol ORYN. Just Google it and look under Yahoo finance, or check out http://www.oryontech.com/   Is currently trading at $.82. Yup 82 cents, but looking at it's unique product, I'm thinking it could do well, however, while I love the product, I don't like it's cash flow, BUT, that's when you get the good deals. Am doing my due diligence today. No recommendations here, just posting my thoughts. We'll see....

FOXNews has a headline today

Image
screaming Joe Biden's brother has a connection to a company that is rebuilding houses in Iraq. FOX, however, had no problem with the HUGE number of Bush family members in the defense industry, making bombs and such, plus the family oil business, as well as Cheney and Haliburton, whose profits went off the chart after Bush/Cheney attacked the oil basket of the world, based on easily provable lies. FOXNews. What a joke. Read it here, http://theinternationalcoalition.blogspot.com/2011/06/how-war-made-bush-family-rich.html

Mitt says loud and often

that 'Gov't does not create jobs'. Bullshit. Government does not create jobs, millions of them — including teachers, police officers, firefighters, soldiers, sailors, astronauts, epidemiologists, antiterrorism agents, park rangers, diplomats, governors (Mr. Romney’s old job) and congressmen (like Paul Ryan). First, the basics. At last count, government at all levels — federal, state and local — employed 22 million Americans, with the largest segment working in public education. Is it better to have private jobs created? Yes, but let's keep it real Mitt. Hardly his first or worst lie, just one of many.

It's SO obvious,

Image
and so stupid, as the Pubs politicize the tragedy in Lybia to make political points, cuz it took a while to label the attack 'terrorist', rather than a mob act after an anti-Muslim movie. DUH, the embassy people were dead and communication was bad. The only way to make these people happy is to bomb the whole area and start another war. Some things never change.

Amazing '60 Minutes', tonight

Image
about the marijuana industry in Colorado. Wow. Way too much going on in this show to explain here, so you just gotta see it. (See 60 Minutes, 10-21-2012). Did you know Denver has 3 times as many MMJ clinics as Starbucks and McDonald's combined?, and that's not even counting Boulder. We ARE one of the few sane states in the country, that the Pubs just hate. A good place for those of us with glaucoma, to live. I gotta admit, most of my friends have cards that make it legal, but I don't. It's about time, as most states send smokers to jail, while giving their blessing to drinkers, while CO has MMJ competitions where strains like 'dopium' and 'bio deisel' win awards, and the gov't admits they can't even impanel a jury, let alone get a conviction. Wow, finally some sanity that may or may not spread. Interesting TV program.

George McGovern just died,

Image
and Carol reminded me that he's the first prez candidate we ever voted for, but the Repub 'Moral Majority', supporting Nixon, buried him, as they wanted the war in Viet Nam to continue, which it did for 4 more years, until the US left Saigon, in a hail of bullets, having won nothing, at great cost. I thought the US had learned a lesson, as in, don't fight an ill-conceived war, that can't be won, on the other side of the world. Nope. GW did all over again in Iraq, with the same party's blessing. McGovern tried to impeach Bush/Cheney, as war criminals, which they obviously are, but the Pubs fought him, defending stupid wars, like they always do. Some people never learn, or even want to. UNbelievable, but real. What does it take, for the sheep to see what's happening, as big business uses 'patriotism', to advance their profits?

When I first saw the title,

Image
I thought it was a political film about the Repub candidates, Romney, Bachmann, Gingrich, Paul, Cain, Santorum and  Perry. I do know the head psycho won the nomination, and legions of 'crazies' are supporting him. Insane....

Flip flop much, Mitt?        CLICK ON TO ENLARGE

One of the FEW times,

that it seems like a live performance of a song is better than the studio version. As I wrote earlier, LP was on Letterman, and this showed up on Utube soon after. If you watch it, notice how tiny she is beside Dave at the end. A unique song that kinda grew on me. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PjaYUcIpsps

Just finished reading 'Boomerang',

Image
a financial story by Michael Lewis, the same guy who wrote 'The Big Short', 'The Blind Side', a true story that explained a lot about football, and 'Moneyball', another true story that explained a whole lot about professional baseball. 'Boomerang' is basically 'Finance for Dummies', as it explains how/why the big boys in Wall Street financial circles made HUGE money bundling, then selling AAA rated mortgage loans. BUT, they ran out of the easy money source, SO, they dropped all lending requirements, hence 'liar loans', with 100 % financing, to under-qualified borrowers, on over-priced properties. The Bush backed financial system, rating agencies, and so-called 'regulatory agencies' (led by Chris Cox) looked the other way and the big money boys made a killing, as the worthless mortgages wrecked not only the US economy, but were sold all over the world, and the 'toxic assets' took down the international financial system. T...

At the very end of Letterman, last night,

Image
there was a band (singer?) named LP, with a new CD called 'Into The Wild', and they did a song that I really liked. Watched it a couple times last night, then again this morning, and is growing on me. Just a girl with her ukelele and her whistling. Pretty good video here, based on Thelma and Louise. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NRtWInxI1pg

Today, we received a CD

Image
(one of over 4 million), sent by Karl Rove and his Super PAC, titled 'Dreams of My Real Father', and saw the Channel 9 'Truth Test' that tore it apart, in SO many ways, saying it has no basis in reality, with false quotes, and puts the question out there, 'Who paid for these lies?',and said in no uncertain terms, it's total BULLSHIT!' Nothing new here, as Rove and the Repub money machine spews crap that they hope uninformed voters will actually believe. Just part of 'Citizens United', Pub 'bought and paid for' lies. Unfortunately, there's an element out there who doesn't care about truth and integrity who will swallow this crap. Just round one in the new 'Swift Boat' attack that worked so well last time. So sad, but real, as the Pubs crank up the 'Big Lie' machine.

Does Mitt think

we all have Romnesia? That we can't remember what it was like after 8 years of Bush and the Repubs? That we can't remember who wrecked our economy and started 'unpaid for' wars, based on lies? That we forgot everything we know about 'arithmetic' when it comes to his tax program? You gotta be kiddin'....

Used a Groupon coupon last night,

Image
at the Bombay Palace, a new Indian restaurant in town, and was reminded why I don't eat Indian food more often, although I really like it. Something in me doesn't tolerate the curry and/or other spices that make the food so flavorful. After dinner last night (and lunch today with the leftovers), my internal system is protesting, in ways I don't care to describe. Bottom line, no matter how good it is, eating Indian food just isn't worth the aftereffects.

Saw a good movie yesterday,

Image
that really showed how fast time flies. Argo is about the hostage crisis in Iran, 33 years ago, and has a bit of history at the the beginning, that most of us have forgotten, as in WHY the Iranian people were SO pissed off at Americans. In 1953, the popularly elected president of Iran was replaced by the Shah of Iran, in a coup directed and financed by the CIA and the US, to protect America's Big Oil interests, much the same way Saddam Hussein was installed in Iraq. The shah, like Hussein, was a despot who tyrannized the people and looted the treasury. When he was overthrown, in a populist revolution, he fled to the US, but the Iranians wanted to put him on trial. Hence, the Iranian mobs took out their anger on the US embassy and it's workers. Argo, based on a true story, tells how Hollywood helped smuggle six Americans back home, with a fake movie. Good flick that explained a lot about why 'they hate us' over there, and brought back many memori...

Interesting story online today,

Image
showing that more people in the UK believe in extra-terrestrial aliens (over 1/2), than believe in God, (under 1/2). Seems to go along with our personal observations in Europe, where we visited many amazing cathedrals, from St Paul's to St Peter's and noticed that the church goers, few as there were, were almost all elderly. Look at any graph and the true believers have been in steady decline for several generations. Not sure why, but may be related to science and education.

Led Zepplin had an album,

Image
'The Song Remains the Same', which should be the theme song of the Pubs. Lots of sound and fury, but the message doesn't change. 'Obama didn't fix the mess we made last time, SO, put us back in charge'. UNbelievable, but real. Just like there are those who believe the earth is 6000 years old, the same crowd ignores what really happened from 2000-2008. Facts just don't matter to them. Pesky damn facts, that some of us live by...

Am SO tired

Image
of the constant barrage of political advertisements we are subjected to, living in a 'swing' state, with not only the presidential, but also with all the local ads. One thing I've noticed lately is that the Dems are associating their opponents with Rush Limbaugh, much the way national politicians tried to tie all the conservative candidates to GWBush in 2008. It must be working, cuz a lot of them are doing it. The Repubs have obviously sequestered Bush and Cheney in an 'undisclosed location', (totally unlike the Dems with Clinton) not allowing any pictures, in an attempt to make people forget what it was like 4 years ago, as our country was going down in flames, after 8 years of Bush/Repubs. GOOD LUCK, although some 'easy to fool and/or, willfully ignorant' sheep, claim that 'the new guy' messed things up. RIIIIIGGGHHTTTT. They forget we're not all FOX disciples.

At least Obama showed up

for this debate, but he could have been better. I kept waiting for him, or even Joe, to mention the fact that Mitt came into Mass. with over 66% approval rating, and slunk out with it under 32%. How's he doing in the state where the people know him best? He's totally buried by Obama and isn't even contesting it. That's the kinda stuff the Dems gotta get out there. The people who know him best can't stand him, and there's no better proof of that than the voters of 'his' state, Massachusettes.

As a public service announcement,

I'm passing along a tip I learned from my 'very sharp' nephew, Jordan. Had a great time with him, and in addition to other fun facts, learned how to improve the performance of my wireless router. Like many others, it has to be unplugged, or 'rebooted' every couple of days, for some reason or other. Jordan says this is very common and a good way around it is to use a timer that shuts it off for a while, typically in the middle of the night when you're not using it. Voila! Hooked it up and it seems to be working. MUCH easier than replacing it, with all the wireless devices we would have to re-program. Don't remember what # beer we were on, at the time, but it wasn't the first...

Just posting this,

cuz I thought it was cool. Had never heard of an oarfish, but one of them just washed up on the beach in Mexico. They live DEEP in the ocean...

Was really hard,

last night, to keep watching, after the first half of the Bronco's game. We've seen it too many time this year. Get way behind, then have a good effort that comes up short. Well, the Bronc's deviated from the script a bit, and with the D playing inspired ball, they set an all-time NFL comeback on the road, posting 35 unanswered points in the 2nd half, after being down 24-0 at intermission. Good lesson there, to never give up.

Sold a shotgun shell reloader over Ebay, and heard from the buyer today. I shipped it to Chicago, and from there it's going to the Ukraine. Wow, talk about a world economy...

In typical FOX bullshit fashion,

after blaming Obama for bad embassy security, (they voted to cut funds for it), the Pubs are claiming that Obama is gonna have an 'October Surprise', and is gonna get political points for killing the terrorists who killed the US staff in Lybia. Talk about screwed if you do and screwed if you don't. That's how they roll at the Repub propaganda center, better known as FOXNews.
