During the Trump era, the Marjorie Taylor Greenes of the party became rock stars among the base, even if they were jokes among their colleagues. Their success has made the term “fringe” a poor way to describe them. In many ways, they arethe Republican Party. Trump not only tapped into this base, but reinforced it, culminating on January 6, with the crowd who actually believed his LIES.

And they are getting precisely what they want: more headlines, more airtime, more spectacle and therefore more power.

Now, that crowd is taking over the Repub controlled House, and blackmailing the spineless party into influential committee leadership.
