Trump Weighs Declaring Iran War Over

President Donald Trump is discussing with senior aides whether to declare the U.S. war with Iran over, even as the Pentagon extends troop deployments into 2027 and the conflict continues to disrupt shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, The Wall Street Journal reported.

The apparent contradiction underscores the uncertainty surrounding the administration's strategy.

Brent crude rose to $95.78 a barrel, while U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude climbed to $91.64, according to Reuters. Both benchmarks have risen for four consecutive days and reached their highest levels in about six weeks.

The latest increases come as fighting between the United States and Iran continues to disrupt energy markets and as shipping through the Strait of Hormuz has slowed.

The supply disruptions are particularly significant for diesel because the fuel is heavily used by the trucking, agricultural, construction, and shipping industries.
