I know there are wackos out there, but,

this whole uproar about Obama addressing students about the importance of education, and staying in school, is just unbelievable. After hearing a woman cry, saying she doesn't want her children brainwashed into becoming Socialists, and hearing all the right wing nut jobs screaming 'this is how Hitler and Stalin started', it just shows how this part of the population is mentally unbalanced. It will be interesting to actually hear and/or read what it is that the crackpots are so opposed to. At a time when education is more important than ever, their entire agenda of opposing 'anything and everything' that Obama does, is getting really sickening.

what bothers me is: has Obama and his administration not been strong enough in getting their message across to the citizens of this nation or is the "other side" getting their message out to the wackos who have a much stronger voice and a bigger soap box to make their voices heard?

Yup. Obama has been a real disappointment, as per getting his agenda across. The Repub a-holes are gonna fight everything he does, so why try try to to placate them? Do like W, and just ram it through. If W can start a war, Obama should be able to do health care...

Realists and Rationalists, and was mentioned in one of my favorite cartoons this morning(Doonsbury), are the only minority who actually KNOW what is going on with govt. today. Unfortunately, we are such a small voice, it's like shouting into the wind. Socialism is the word Insurance lobbyists have given to the Healthcare reform to scare people into believing that if we go for this we give up all our rights. If this were so, then we lost those rights when Medicare and Medicaid were signed into law! Is Germany a Socialist state? Denmark? Switzerland? These countries have Heathcare for all their citizens.

Great 'bargains' at the local Sprouts store

where we picked up asparagus and baby back ribs. Carol and I went for the same stuff (serarately, today), cuz it is so good, AND a great price. Had it for dinner tonight. WOW.
