ANY moderate Repub, like Huntsman, Daniels or Christie would have won easily, BUT, the the right wing whackjobs (Tea Party, created and financed by the Koch bros.) hijacked the party and alienated the middlle ground.   President Donald Trump’s diesel deal with Russia would supply the global market with 4.8 million metric tons, or nearly 36 million barrels total.  This is equivalent to a little more than a single day of global demand.  The U.S. is a net diesel exporter so it does not need Russian supply, said Andy Lipow, president of Lipow Oil Associates. Goldman Sachs estimated the initial Russian release would only reduce wholesale diesel prices by $1 to $2 per barrel, which is currently at approximately $200/barrel.
