swallowed the lies from the Orange Clown, cuz he told them what they wanted to hear, and this put him 'over the top' in Rust Belt states where he promised to bring back coal, although anyone with a brain, (FOXSheep obviously excluded), can see that coal, as a YUUUGE polluter, that is WAY more expensive than natuaral gas, is fuel of the past not the future. BUT, the average Trump voter isn't known for their intelligence, SO, they swallowed it, along with myriad other lies he told to be elected.

Gary Cohn, director of the White House National Economic
Council, told reporters aboard Air Force One Thursday night
that coal “doesn’t make sense anymore,” as he talked up
other energy sources.

“Coal doesn’t even make that much sense anymore as a
feedstock,” he said, CNN Money reported. Feedstock
refers to what’s used to produce energy. Cohn called
natural gas a “such a cleaner fuel,” and pointed out that
America has become an “abundant producer” of the
fossil fuel.
