Interesting Biblical questions

I need some advice regarding specific laws and how to follow them.

When I burn a bull on the alter as a sacrifice, I know it creates a pleasing odor for the Lord (Lev.1: 9). The problem is my neighbors. They claim the odor is not pleasing to them. Should I smite them?
I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as sanctioned in Exodus 21:7. In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair price for her?
I know that I am allowed no contact with a woman while she is in her period of menstrual uncleanliness (Lev. 15:19-24). The problem is, how do I tell? I have tried asking, but most women take offense.
Lev. 25:44 states that I may indeed possess slaves, both male and female, provided they are purchased from neighboring nations. A friend of mine claims that this applies to Mexicans, but not Canadians. Can you clarify? Why can't I own Canadians?
I have a neighbor who insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2 clearly states he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself?
Lev 21:22 states that I may not approach the alter of God if I have a defect in my sight. I have to admit that I wear reading glasses. Does my vision have to be 20/20, or is there some wiggle room here?
Most of my male friends get their hair trimmed, including around their temples, even though they are expressly forbidden by Lev 19:27. How should they die?
I know from Lev 11:6-8 that touching the skin of a dead pig makes me unclean, but may I still play football if I wear gloves?
My uncle has a farm. He violates Lev 19:19 by planting two different crops in the same field, as does his wife by wearing garments made of two different kinds of thread (cotton/ polyester blend). He also tends to curse and blaspheme a lot. Is it really necessary that we go through the trouble of getting the whole town together to stone them? Couldn't we just burn them to death at a private family affair like we do with people who sleep with their in-laws? (Lev. 20:14)

Just wondering, for those of you who claim the Bible is 100% true, and is to be taken literally...

Don't know if it matters to you, but the Scriptures you reference are from the Old Testament, which would be the Jewish laws or the old laws. Some Christian religions believe those laws were "washed away" or negated when Christ was crucified.

Not even Jews follow the literal laws. The "Oral Law" claimed that study, prayer, and good deeds replace the need for sacrifices at the Temple, regardless of the statements of the Torah!
This was after the second temple was destroyed and the rabbis stated that this should be the case.

It's the same part of the Bible, quoted by the thumpers, that says homosexuality is an 'abomination'. As if it is a choice.

I, unlike many of the so called "Bible Thumpers" try not to judge, because I've not walked in those shoes, nor have those who are judging. I've never been a homosexual (in this lifetime), so I have no idea what those feelings are, however I would say, to CHOOSE to be gay would be like wearing a bullseye on your chest at an archery contest.

If only the majority of the religious masses had your wisdom, logic and tolerance, the world would be a much better place.

Very interesting, while I do not have a strong religious background, I have noticed and alarming trend of people who will quote the Bible (Old and New Testament) when it serves their best interest and ignore it in other venues of their lives.
While I do not believe it is a black or white issue (you must either live 100% by the word of the Bible or not at all) I do wish people would stop using it strictly to promote their personal agenda.

That's right, hb, the same people who push the 10 Commandments, and "Thous shalt not kill", have no problem with W's "oops, bad info", shock and awe attack, killing tens of thousands of Iraqi people, who had the bad judgement to live in a country where the CIA had installed the leader. Total hypocrites...

You break one commandment, you have broken them all, the Scriptures state. I truly believe they are Commitments, not commandments, afterall, God gave us free will. He knows our heart, our minds, our Souls. He created us and knows are very being. We were born in Sin & Saved by Grace. God loves me unconditionally! Period
