As I watch the news,

I realize how much I love Sarah Palin and the Tea Party. Sorta like Ralph Nader allowed the Repubs to win in 2000 and 2004, by splitting the Dems, in a very tight election, the same thing could happen in 2010 and 2012. The whack jobs on the far right will split the vote and allow the moderate middle to keep them out. Thank you, Sarah and Tea Party, for keeping our country out of the clutches of the right wing nut jobs. You could be a total disaster, if allowed into power.

Obama removed the reference to the "Creator" from the Declaration of Independence when he quoted a portion at a meeting of the Congressional Hispanic Congress.

Obama said, "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, endowed with certain inalienable rights: life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness."

I suppose it is bush's fault he left out the word creator. Or maybe the left wing nut job is to busy pushing his muslim agenda. Sarah Palin wouldn't have left creator out.

Maybe he, like a lot of people, including the founding fathers, actually believes in the constitutioanlity of the separation of church and state. It's there. Look it up. We saw what happens when W, looked to a higher power, and started a war based on lies.

Look up the Declaration of Independance. If this left wing radical is going to quate it and represent the U.S.A he should qoute it properly.

There is no such thing as seperation of church and state. You haven't got a clue. You look it up and tell me where you read this.

The founding fathers believed in God, a creator which is why it is in the Declaration of Independance. ovomit has no right to misquote it.

As for anonymous I am not in Texas so you do not have a clue either.

If I may weigh in on this Separation of Church and State...Jefferson, in 1802, in writing the Baptists assoc. of Danbury, remarked that Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion. This statement was never made into law; never part of the Constitution or an Amendment to the Constitution. Seeing first hand England's religious power held sway over the people, he was one to not want government to be affected by religion. In fact, Jefferson was not a religious man, although America would want our forefathers to be of pious and prayful nature. Well, that for certain didn't happen, as we all know, due to the Mulatto children of a few of our forefathers. Good old Ben Franklin would take off to France and have a hell of a raucous time being a diplomat of the U.S. Why do you think many of our "forefathers" left England to begin with? Religious Freedom for one, as well and taxes.

The U.S. Supreme Court has currently interpreted it since 1947, to mean that religion and government must stay separate for the benefit of both, including the idea that the government must not impose religion on Americans nor create any law requiring it. It has since been in several opinions handed down by the United States Supreme Court.
Being constitutional means it holds up, according to the constitution, according to the Supreme Court. There is a reason for it being upheld, so the religious wingnuts don't get control of our govt, BUT, someone like W will do an endrun, and start a war, on a 'higher calling'. Sickening and illegal, but typical of the Repubs.

FG..you will never presume to understand the mindset of a Conservative, yet alone a Conservative Republican. Now add to that equation,ultra-religious, to the extent that the church should, by law, own the government & all laws should be managed by the church. What Conservatives refuse to understand is this: Christ not only died for our sins, but also abolished the old law, which if one is a student of the Old Testament, understands the extent religion and government had in man's life, both Jewish and Roman. Just ask a former Catholic..........

The wall metaphor Jefferson spoke of was to reaffirm the 1st amendment that government will not be run by a church (Church of England)that government will not tell ppl which church to belong to. It is not to say there is no belief in church and God has no place in government.

But again obama purposely misquotes the Declaration of Independence and u make excuses for him, turn it into something else and blame it on bush.

Yes, Jim, this United States Government was created upon Christian principles. It is Bible based. It is "White bread". However, look at how it's been raped and plundered by these upstanding and rightous forefathers! So don't go expounding your pity-ful rhetoric about Obama. Every GD president since George Washington has sinned against God and country, including you and me, brother. Applications for Sainthood can be found at the Vatican.

And our pious and God fearing forefathers, the foundation of our country, the guiding hand on which our magnificent blood-stained country is built,the old red, white and blue, Washington, Jefferson, Madison, Monroe, Jackson,Tyler, Polk, Taylor, Grant....were all slave owners! Let us applaud their character, "all men are created equal" except black, who are my slaves and have no rights, unless so. I believe the man was preaching to the choir.
