Walt, from Erie, has a good point in his Letter to the Editor

 Divine court decisions?

An Alabama judge invoked God in deciding an embryo case. We are in dangerous waters. Evangelical leaders want a theocracy.

Their followers seem to have no problem with that. Evangelicals live in a democracy that allows them to freely preach endlessly about a god that cannot be proven. But they want to take away our right to disagree. While there is historical fact in the Bible, nothing metaphysical can be proven. It is all man-created and -written. No god of any religion has ever come down to speak to us.

What deeply concerns me is that in a modern country like ours, a country that loves to tell the world how great we are, there is a vast population of people who want to take us back to the Dark Ages. It is dangerous, and they need to be stopped.

The Dark Ages left Europe a long time ago, only to show up here.
