Ths is Bella, attacking my poor defenseless kitty,

but she won't be doing that for awhile. I was awakened by Carol at about 5 o'clock this morning, holding Bella and saying, "Look who I found outside". Seems Carol noticed we only had one kitty this morning and Bella, who is normally on our 2nd floor bedroom deck/rail to start the day, was nowhere in sight. SOOO, she went outside looking/calling, and found Bella hiding in the flowers, below the deck, with a hurt paw. Left front, swelled up. Was gonna take her to the vet when they opened (not sure when/where on the 4th of July), but after leaving her in her favorite spot in the dining room, I returned a short time later to find she had climbed the stairs, jumped up on the 2nd floor railing, then jumped to her 'window spot' which is difficult to get to, even when NOT injured. So we decided to wait on the vet, as it looks alot like a sprained ankle and I'm not sure what, if anything, can be done. Anyway, she's moving around the house, jumping up and down, although definitely favoring her good paw. No emergency as I see it, so will let her owners make the 'vet' decision. They should be here in about 7-8 hours. Can't wait.....

Awww poor Bella! There is an emergency 24 hour vet right by the Target on Midway and Highway 287 in Broomfield. Just a fyi for the future. I have never been but it's nice to know it is there. I think if she is jumping and not crying waiting to take her to the vet is definately not a bad thing at all!

Hope Bella has a fun recovery, and hope you enjoy your BBQ. We have made it in past years but this year we won't be able to!
