My soul brother, Dave, just posted this, and I’m forwarding it on. Thanks, again, Dave….

 All,

RE: Meanwhile, over on Fox…

I’ve been watching Fox for the last two hours since Trump’s latest indictment was announced.  They have all their rabid pundits lined up and are giving each of them three or four minutes to just rant.

And it’s amazing how well each of these rants (while emotionally unhinged and legally incoherent) are following the same basic script, to wit:

  • This indictment (by “the Feds” – meaning “Joe Biden”) is nothing less than “an insurrection” against the Constitution.  The Biden “Dept. of Injustice” has no case to make – it’s just illegally and vindictively wielding insurrectionist power to derail and topple “a political opponent” and “a former President and the leading candidate to win the 2024 election”.  Lots of talk about “banana republic” tactics and “illegally weaponized” law enforcement.

  • If the Feds can blatantly persecute (and prosecute) Trump this way – then they can do it to “any one of you”.  This is a core Trump meme – that he is the living embodiment (“savior”) of all his followers – and “any attack on Trump is an attack on you” (i. e. his supporters).  The Fox pundits are pounding this theme heavily.

  • This indictment is “the start of the Revolution” against the Deep State and globalists.  No, I haven’t heard that precise set of words on Fox yet this evening.  But there has been a veritable tsunami of Fort Sumter-level bombast – lots of thinly-veiled rhetoric about “last straws” and “no turning back now”.  They’re selling full-scale Revolution on Fox tonight.  I sense a mood of “Jan. 6th was just the start…”.

  • Bottom line: Fox News (like the rest of us) knew for weeks that this indictment was coming.  They had plenty of time to “get their ducks in a row” for a calculated display of performative outrage and not-so-subtle calls for “taking it to the next level”.  And they’re dishing it out in 5-gallon buckets tonight.

I’ll leave you with the single most bizarre quote I heard a few minutes ago from Tammy Bruce, to wit:

“All those who laid down their lives at Gettysburg to defend our nation have just been punched in the face tonight.”
