Living in Colorado, we’ve seen cut, after cut, after cut, to programs, grants, agencies, disaster relief, etc. Now, we see it’s all been a concerted effort (I’m shocked!), by Boss Hogg and his minions, that started with a special meeting (documented in Denver Post this morning) .
Because of Colorado’s mail in voting system, which is a model for the nation, (and there’s never been a problem with), and because Tina Peters(R) was rightly imprisoned for election fraud (in a district Trump won overwhelmingly) and because Colorado didn’t vote for the crooked jackass, we have been punished, to the tune of hundreds of millions of dollars, and agencies like the National Weather Service, Space Force and many defense facilities have been moved out of state. Could go on and on, but you get the picture.
This all started after a meeting where Trump basically said, ‘Punish Colorado, make em suffer until they come around’, and that’s what his lackeys have done, and continue to do.
Boss Hogg learned well, from his pal Putin, as his revenge tour targets Colorado, as well as many individuals, who dared to stand up to him…even if it was just a picture of seashells…8647.
White House convened meeting on Colo.
In mid-December, an assistant to President Donald Trump summoned officials from several federal agencies to a meeting so they could discuss what to do about Colorado.
Under the subject line “brainstorm call,” Emily Underwood asked officials from five agencies to join a call later that day “prepared to discuss immediate actions that your department or agency can take with respect to Colorado.”
Within days of that “brainstorm call,” a conservative media outlet reported that the Department of Energy was cutting $615 million in funding intended for Colorado. The Department of Transportation said it would end $109 million in grant funding to the state. The Office of Management and Budget moved to shutter the National Center for Atmospheric Research in Boulder. Federal emergency officials rejected disaster relief funding for fire-scarred areas on the Western Slope. The Department of Agriculture ordered the state to swiftly re-certify 100,000 Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program recipients within 30 days.
Before the month was out, Trump vetoed legislation that would have brought clean water to parts of the state and vetoed FEMA disaster payments. And the ‘punishment’ continues to this day, with the US Forest Service, based in Colorado, losing over 25% of it’s personnel and budget.
