Shrimp boil

Another good meal, in Houma LA,was this 'shrimp boil', a classic cajun dish, hosted by Bob, of Bob's Bayou Black Marina, for James and Diann, center of picture, who spent 3 days on a roof in New Orleans, and myself. Also attending, Bob's family. Recipe includes about 25 lbs of fresh shrimp, cajun sausage, corn on cob, garlic, onions, potatoes, lemon and Zattarains 'special sauce'. All boiled together, outside, then dumped on a table with plastic beneath and newspaper on top. No plates or utensils. Just roll it up and toss in trash when finished. Oh yeah, when you've totally stuffed yourself, you sit around and shell all the left over shrimp for the next day's gumbo. GREAT food.

Awesome meal! My family in South Carolina calls this Frogmore Stew after Frogmore island! Good people in the south!
