S&P 500 hits new record high amid signs of easing US economic gloom

Index climbs to all-time high of 4,838, clearing record set two years ago, as US consumer confidence rises while inflation concerns ease

Americans are rapidly becoming much more upbeat about the economy.

Consumer sentiment surged 29% since November, the biggest two-month increase since 1991, the University of Michigan said Friday, adding to gauges showing improving moods.

Great 'bargains' at the local Sprouts store

where we picked up asparagus and baby back ribs. Carol and I went for the same stuff (serarately, today), cuz it is so good, AND a great price. Had it for dinner tonight. WOW. One of my fav dinners, as the ribs start out in the crock pot, then finish on the grill, with fresh asparagus. (and bread pudding for dessert) I LOVE this time of year...
