Trump Issues First Two Vetoes Of His Second Term And Raises Questions Of Retribution

President Donald Trump made the first two vetoes of his second term this week, rejecting bipartisan bills that would have aided the construction of a water pipeline in Colorado and added land to an area reserved for a Native American tribe in the Everglades.

Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.), one of the lawmakers who backed the water pipeline legislation, slammed Trump’s veto and raised questions about the rationale for it.

“Nothing says ‘America First’, like denying clean drinking water to 50,000 people in Southeast Colorado,” she said in a blistering statement to Colorado 9News journalist Kyle Clark on Tuesday.

“I sincerely hope this veto has nothing to do with political retaliation,” she added, ironically.
