• The Fact: Fred Trump was actually born in The Bronx, New York. His father (Donald’s grandfather) was the immigrant.  

• The Context: These claims were often made during diplomatic tensions with Germany. Historians and critics have noted that erasing his father’s true birthplace for political theater is a form of disrespect to the man’s actual history.
