I am SO sick of hearing.

how the gulf oil leak is SO bad. The main damage has been how the gov't has shut down the area. The best example I have heard. as to the size of the event, 85 mil gallons, is that it is the size of an Olympic swimming pool, that is 8 miles long. Seems bad, BUT, when compared to the whole Gulf of Mexico, wouldn't even be a small pencil mark on the map. Get real. people. Look at the REAL problems we have. Wars and economic damage from the last administration. THAT'S what's gonna kill us, not some oil leak

Are you out of your mind???
A month ago it was the size of the state of Kansas and growing! Think for just a sec as to what damage all this crude is doing to the environment, now and the future. What it is doing to the fishermen in the area, the recreation, food supply. The list is endless. Now multiply by how many other leaks are out there! Sometimes, you can make some really dumb statements. Now we learn that China has a huge oil leak! YES, this could kill us.........

The damage has been to the area being shut down. There could be worse damage if a hurricane somehow drives the oil ashore. Sure, there is some damage and will be some more, but it is miniscule compared to other threats to us. The 'state of Kansas' thing is a sheen of oil that is less than a millimeter thick. Not good, but not catastophic. The damage comes from shutting down ALL new drilling, and closing 1/3 of the gulf to fishig. A HUGE overreaction.

Just look at all the people who have been sickened from the odor of the oil slick being on the water. What do you think that is doing to the crab, shrimp, and lobster? Contamination, that's what. I certainly wouldn't eat what would be pulled out of that under water oil infested area...and it is underwater, not just on top, Stevo! I have no idea where you're info is coming from, but you're getting misled.
Of course a Hurricane is going to blow that Sh*t all the way to Canada! Before we begin drilling again, let's make it SAFE, damnit!
