Between a rock

and a hard place, is where Obama finds himself, when speaking of the crashing economy, he inherited from Bush. If he says it is doing better, he hurts his credibility, BUT, if he admits it is getting worse, he helps to push it further over the edge, as he needs to keep people spending, at all costs. Can't imagine why he wanted the job in the first place. No way he coulda known, though, what a mess the Repubs would make of things. He's trying, but I'm afraid it's too late to fix W's mess, that we're gonna live with, for a LONG time.

Listening to a guest on Charlie Rose program last night, talking about the 3 Depressions the U.S. has experienced, the first ending around 1880 due to the rise in technology; the second ending at the beginning of WW2 where manufacturing kicked into high gear to build aircraft, ships, tanks, jeeps, etc. for war. We can't count on technology or war for the third depression, because we have other countries surpassing us in technology and it comes with a huge cost, which our country just does not have and that brings me back to War, which we are fighting on 2 fronts and it's costing America trillions of dollars that we don't have. Monies we are borrowing from China to pay for Bush's folly. I believe he assumed by going to war with Iraq, he could jump-start the economy as we did in WWII, but our govt. can't pay for a 21st century war. We can't even pay for 21st century casualties of war; death, destruction, PTS, the economy, bankruptcy of mind body and soul. This is now. This is our future. It's not Obama's fault.
