Doug Lamborn, a Colorado Springs Republican, told reporters on Capitol Hill on Friday that President Donald Trump’s personal lawyer may have acted improperly, but that reflects poorly only on the lawyer, not the president. During the impeachment inquiry, several witnesses have alleged Rudy Giuliani, the president’s attorney, carried out a shadow foreign policy. “I need to find out more about that. I have some questions about what Mr. Giuliani was doing, but that’s a side issue.

That’s got nothing to do with the president,” Lamborn said Friday

morning in a video posted by Mother Jones. He said Giuliani may have been “off on his own mission, doing things that people didn’t know about, kind of like a loose cannon,” but, if so, “that’s a Rudy Giuliani thing, that’s not a President Trump thing.” As the interview was ending, Lamborn said: “I’m going to come back after votes and hear what the Republicans have to say and maybe form a better opinion.” — Justin Wingerter, The Denver Post
