Watched an amazing documentary called Wrecking Crew, a bunch of studio musicians who recorded thousands of songs, including

The Crew included Tommy Tedesco, Glen Cambell and Leon Russell before they became famous on their own.

The Beach Boys, Frank Sinatra, Sonny and Cher, Jan & Dean, The Monkees, Gary Lewis and the Playboys, Mamas and Papas, Tijuana Brass, Ricky Nelson, Johnny Rivers, The Association, The Byrds and MANY more had their albums recorded with the Wrecking Crew doing all the instrumentals.

All the recording was done with the Wrecking Crew musicians, NOT the members of the band who wrote the songs and toured.

Only Bryan Wilson was in the recording studio when The Beach Boys albums were recorded! Studio time was too expensive for the bands to make records. The Byrds took 77 takes over several days to make Turn, Turn Turn and the Wrecking Crew did two tracks, including Mr Tambourine Man, in a three hour session.

Wow, that kinda blows me away…..
