  NBC News reached out to 44 people who previously served in Trump’s Cabinet during his four years in office to gauge whether they would support the former president during the 2024 presidential election. The only four former Cabinet members who NBC News reached out to who said they would support Trump are former acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker, former chief of staff Mark Meadows, former Office of Management and Budget (OMB) director Russell Vought and former acting director of national intelligence Richard Grenell. Charges against Donald Trump, the ring leader, are expected soon, in the form of another indictment, with numerous charges, including conspiracy to overturn an election and Inciting an Insurrection.   A man is running to run the government he tried to overthrow while he was running it, even as he is running to stay ahead of the law.   Earlier this year,  the committee issued subpoenas  to House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy and four other GOP representatives to testify to the committee about their involvement with Trump’s attempts to overturn the 2020 election: Reps. Scott Perry of Pennsylvania, Jim Jordan of Ohio, Andy Biggs of Arizona and Mo Brooks of Alabama. All five ignored the subpoenas. House Judiciary Committee Chairman  Jim Jordan, R-Ohio,  sent a letter to FBI Director Christopher Wray on Monday alleging that the FBI has failed to comply with congressional subpoenas and warning to take action if they do not follow through by next week, because the FBI didn’t give as much information as Jordan felt they should.

  Michigan is one of three states, along with Georgia and Arizona, where there are ongoing investigations relating to the use of false electors by the Trump team in 2020.

  Donald Trump said Tuesday he expects to be indicted by special counsel Jack Smith’s Jan. 6 grand jury, citing a “target letter” he received from investigators on Sunday. Such a letter “almost always means an arrest and indictment,” Trump, who has already been criminally indicted twice in recent months, wrote on Truth Social.

  The announcement about the ‘fake electors’ came the same day Trump  said he has been notified  that he is the target of an investigation by a Washington-based grand jury examining the Jan. 6 riot and efforts to overturn the 2020 election.   Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel announced Tuesday that she has filed charges against 16 people who signed paperwork falsely claiming that President  Donald Trump  had won the 2020 election as part of a scheme to overturn the results. Nessel said the "false electors" are being charged with eight felony counts each, including forgery.
