The US Wildlife Service has always set aside millions of acres as refuges, where fish and game have been free of hunting and harassment, to rest and breed, in peace. No more….The Trumpies, at the urging of large hunting organizations have opened over 95% of those refuges to hunters, which will severely impact the breeding and calving season, BUT will allow affluent hunters more and bigger animals to kill.
The proposal would make more than 92 million acres, or over 95% of National Wildlife Refuge System lands, available for hunting.
Secretary of the U.S. Department of the Interior Doug Burgum said access to hunting and fishing on federal lands has been limited by unnecessary restrictions and disconnected federal rules, which protect pregnant mothers and newborns on non hunting refuge land.
