Wow, even Republicans are beginning to turn on Boss Hogg.

 Somebody pinch me. I never thought I’d see the day when a Republican congressional candidate actually criticized President Donald Trump, the God-King, Lord of the MAGA Movement, He Who Must Not Be Scorned. 

But on Sept. 17, with midterm elections closing in, there was Rep. Maria Elvira Salazar, a Florida Republican, staring straight into the camera for a campaign ad and saying: “Mr. President, your immigration enforcement efforts have gone too far.”

After Trump won reelection in 2024, Salazar told PBS News she was confident that “the Trump administration is not going to be targeting those people who have been here for more than five years that have American kids, that don't have criminal records, that have been working in the economy and paying taxes. I am sure that they're going to hone in on the criminals.”

Oops.

Less than 20% of those rounded up have criminal records, as ICE arrests landscapers, roofers, restaurant help, farm workers and senior care workers, as well as slaughter house employees….in other words, the workers who do the tough jobs in the US.

The only question?

How long are we going to put up with this jackass, who is also pursuing an unpopular war that is making the US a world pariah, for skyrocketing energy costs?

Saw a good movie yesterday,

that really showed how fast time flies. Argo is about the hostage crisis in Iran, 33 years ago, and has a bit of history at the the beginning, that most of us have forgotten, as in WHY the Iranian people were SO pissed off at Americans. In 1953, the popularly elected president of Iran was replaced by the Shah of Iran, in a coup directed and financed by the CIA and the US, to protect America's Big Oil interests, much the same way Saddam Hussein was installed in Iraq. The shah, like Hussein, was a despot who tyrannized the people and looted the treasury. When he was overthrown, in a populist revolution, he fled to the US, but the Iranians wanted to put him on trial. Hence, the Iranian mobs took out their anger on the US embassy and it's workers. Argo, based on a true story, tells how Hollywood helped smuggle six Americans back home, with a fake movie. Good flick that explained a lot about why 'they hate us' over there, and brought back many memori...

I'm not a Bible scholar,

so I don't know if it's tue, but I read that Paul, the 'founder' of Christianity, author of the Gospel of John, and the most prolific writer of the New Testament, never referred to a virgin birth, in ANY of his writings. Neither did Mark, the first of the apostles to write a Gospel. Matthew was the first to add it to the story. Furthermore, they referred to Jesus as being of the lineage of David, to fulfill an Old Testament prophecy, BUT, the lineage is from Joseph, his father(?). Pretty interesting, I think, and doesn't make sense to me, but I'm just a logical, rational person, not a Bible scholar. Am I just 'misinformed'?
