 Re: “Trump: Americans get $5K if GOP keeps power,” Sept. 10 news story

At the Republican midterm convention, President Donald Trump said, “I’m asking you to pretend that I’m on the ballot. Just one more time.” 

Please do this.

Every time there is a Republican candidate on the ballot, you should try instead to visualize Donald Trump’s face. Then think about his war with Iran and the price of gas. Think about his tariffs, which have raised prices and inflation. Think about his deficit that will be left for your grandchildren to repay.

Think about how he has bullied countries that used to be our friends and coddled nations that used to be our enemies. And finally consider just how consistent his policies have been and how proud they make you feel to be an American.

Saw a good movie yesterday,

that really showed how fast time flies. Argo is about the hostage crisis in Iran, 33 years ago, and has a bit of history at the the beginning, that most of us have forgotten, as in WHY the Iranian people were SO pissed off at Americans. In 1953, the popularly elected president of Iran was replaced by the Shah of Iran, in a coup directed and financed by the CIA and the US, to protect America's Big Oil interests, much the same way Saddam Hussein was installed in Iraq. The shah, like Hussein, was a despot who tyrannized the people and looted the treasury. When he was overthrown, in a populist revolution, he fled to the US, but the Iranians wanted to put him on trial. Hence, the Iranian mobs took out their anger on the US embassy and it's workers. Argo, based on a true story, tells how Hollywood helped smuggle six Americans back home, with a fake movie. Good flick that explained a lot about why 'they hate us' over there, and brought back many memori...

Michelle Bachmann probably has 'double the IQ",

of Sarah Palin, but that doesn't mean it's in triple digits. Given a chance to admit that she made a mistake when she stated that our 'Founding Fathers' worked tirelessly to end slavery, she doubled down and claimed John Quincy Adams, who was a young child at the time, was against slavery, so she was/is right. Wow.
