 “Doddridge County Sheriff Clinton Boring committed his department to work on behalf of President Trump’s deportation campaign in February, though he didn’t expect to see many immigrants, legal or not. He had his sights on new squad cars.

“I honestly don’t think there are any Hispanics that live in Doddridge,” said Boring, whose West Virginia jurisdiction has about 7,600 residents. Even so, he added, “When you get an opportunity to get possibly $100,000 for equipment or vehicles, that’s a no-brainer.”

Within six months, he said, the Doddridge County Sheriff’s Office detained two people living in the U.S. illegally and received more than $137,000 in federal funds.”


“The program is most profitable for large departments. The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office in Florida signed up more than 970 deputies, making it eligible for roughly $14.5 million in DHS funds from April to June, state records show. That pencils out to more than $2 million for each of its seven immigration arrests in that quarter.”

Saw a good movie yesterday,

that really showed how fast time flies. Argo is about the hostage crisis in Iran, 33 years ago, and has a bit of history at the the beginning, that most of us have forgotten, as in WHY the Iranian people were SO pissed off at Americans. In 1953, the popularly elected president of Iran was replaced by the Shah of Iran, in a coup directed and financed by the CIA and the US, to protect America's Big Oil interests, much the same way Saddam Hussein was installed in Iraq. The shah, like Hussein, was a despot who tyrannized the people and looted the treasury. When he was overthrown, in a populist revolution, he fled to the US, but the Iranians wanted to put him on trial. Hence, the Iranian mobs took out their anger on the US embassy and it's workers. Am really conflicted,

with the 'scandals' in Wahington. First of all Benghazi is not a scandal, no matter how hard the Pubs try to make it into one. BUT, the IRS and AP affairs have some merit, although the Tea Party (created and supported by the Koch bros) and FOX News are just arms of the Repub Party, whose sole intent is to take down Obama and the Dems, by any and all means. That is a given. SO, should the Dems just roll over when they are constantly under attack? No, BUT, they need to fight legally, and using the IRS and stifling a free press isn't right either. Not NEARLY as egregious as the last admin's behavior, but wrong, none the less. Personally, it just makes me more disgusted at the dirty game of politics that is all about the power and money involved, rather than doing what is best for the people.
