A rocking chair memory,

I hope I never lose, would be a special evening on a cruise ship in Montego Bay, Jamaica, mon. About half way thru a Carribean cruise, we docked in Montego Bay, and Carol and I spent the day sight-seeing and taking a Lazy River Cruise, on a raft piloted by David, who had built the raft from bamboo. The trip consisted of a bus ride to the mountains (or hills), then a leisurely float downstream thru the jungle as David told stories and sang songs. He was VERY good at his job and we got some local souvenirs from him. We arrived back on the cruise ship just as the sun was setting, a local Reggae/steel drum band was setting up near the ship's pool, and an outdoor feast, with rum punch, was being readied. Can still vividly see the outrageous orange and pink sunset and hear the band, made up of three generations of an extended family, as we had a seafood feast in the tropical evening. Truly one of those magical times that don't happen often enough, but when they do, WOW....
