Gotta love Mississippi


A high school in Jackson, MS, has cancelled the senior prom, rather than let two girls attend as 'a couple'. Instead of admitting some people are just 'born that way', they chose to punish everyone. As one disappointed student said, 'that's what you get when you live in the Bible belt'.

I've been hearing about this the last couple of days... couldn't understand why they cancelled the whole prom.... I feel bad for the lesbian couple and anyone else affected by those close-minded small town people.

You're looking at the deep south where Conservatism is extreme. Racial bias is still strong in Mississippi. It's just not in the small towns, it's especially fostered in the churches, sad to say.
I was watching a segment on CNN about a few Christian pastors from the United States who preached in Uganda about Homosexuality and it being a sin against God, morally wrong, and so on. Now the Ugandans are killing and beating Homosexuals there. How wrong.

Great 'bargains' at the local Sprouts store

where we picked up asparagus and baby back ribs. Carol and I went for the same stuff (serarately, today), cuz it is so good, AND a great price. Had it for dinner tonight. WOW. Just wait 'til Bonehead leads us all over the cliff, to save his 2% buddies having to pay a little higher tax. The Pubs keep thinking the American public is stupid, and they can get away with their phony political crap.
