Some things I didn't know

about Colorado's Prop 64.

The state will tax it at 15%, with the first $40 mil each year going to school construction and the remainder going to general education funds.
It is expected to drastically lower the price of pot in the state.
Although retail stores won't open for approximately a year, the law goes into effect as soon as the gov certifies the election which has to be done within 30 days.
Each adult is allowed to possess 1 ounce AND 6 plants, only 3 of which can be mature.
Growing, as well as smoking, nust be done out of the public view.
Each adult is allowed to possess the TOTAL growth of his/her plants, NOT just one ounce.
It is legal to 'give away' up to an ounce of pot, as often as you'd like.
The state will not only get a direct benefit from tax revenue, but also in tourism, a drop in legal and incarceration costs and a huge increase in snack food sales.
Although local counties and municipalities can restrict retail outlets, they cannot change the state law for individual citizens.
Prop 64 was passed by 50,000 more votes than Obama got, a fact the admin will not forget. As in, they probably won't mess with us, cuz O wouldn't have won the election, without the crossover voters that 64 brought to the ballot, as in 50-49% Obama win and 55-45% for Prop 64.
The law applies not only to Colorado residents, but also visitors to the state.
It will provide a huge boost for marijuana 'edibles' and drinks that have become very popular in Medical MJ dispensaries.
Will be healthier, as some residents, wanting to relax, and/or get a buzz, will smoke instead of drinking alcohol.
It will be a huge boost for 'grow' suppliers and the construction industry.
It will be a boost for the Colorado economy, on MANY levels, incl commercial and residential real estate, tourism and the entire service industry as well as drug sniffing dogs for 'departures' at DIA.
All in all, pretty much a 'win/win/win' for Colorado residents, and this area, whose 'Beermuda Triangle', is second only to Munich in quality/quantity beer brewing.
One of 'Most ReTweeted' msgs?' "I'm moving to Colorado".
Is this a great state, or what?
