It's very unusual

to get a Maine Coon (kitty), from a shelter, cuz they are very valuable (expensve), BUT, that's where we got Bailey. Part of the reason, I'm sure, is because she had a 'kink' in her tail, (that later fell off). I'm guessing she got the last couple inches closed in a door. Maybe that is the reason she 'curls' her tail, in an inward spiral, unlike any cat I've ever seen, when she doesn't have it 'straight up and fluffed out', as she struts around like she 'owns the place'. She's quite a character...
