Just got this,
from my 1967 KHS Alum Org, concerning my teammateTom Heller, who was All-State football and B-ball, and started for the Huskers, as a sophomore, (1971-72), considered the best ever college football team, and best man at my wedding. Lots of memories. Unreal, but true, I guess. Makes all my day to day stuff seem really irrelevant and trivial. Will try to contact him...
Our KHS 1967 classmate Tom Heller has been diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), often referred to as "Lou Gehrig's Disease", which affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. Tom has been suffering excruciating pain and some tremors since last October 2012 and has lost more than 30 pounds. He had surgery in Denver this past Wednesday, and feels better now, but please keep Tom and Sue in your thoughts and prayers. You can email Tom at coach.th@comcast.net but Tom may not be able to answer all emails while he's still recovering from surgery. Thanks!
