I treated myself to a bottle of Dewars, 12 year old Scotch, cuz it was on sale and I used to like it, but hadn’t had any for a long time.

After testing the nose, or aroma, and tasting it, I decided to look up the reviews, cuz it was a complex nose/taste. This is the review, and it’s fun checking out the various flavors as I watch the Denver Donkeys just BLOW IT, and Bryson DeChambeau run away with the US Open Golf Championship, before checking out the Colorado Rockies and the Denver Nuggets.

This, after a great party at the Tobin homestead outside of Boulder yesterday, as a herd of about 70 elk, with three LARGE bulls, came down past the property right at sundown, (within rock throwing distance) while the host and I won the Cornhole Championship.

Life is good.

Mmmmm, there’s a reason I used to like Dewars....

Nose: This smells like caramel, black cherries and a chocolate milkshake. There are also light notes of orange peel, and smoke. It smells really good, but it’s not overwhelming.

Palate: Dewar’s 12 Year blend is strikingly smooth. Initially, caramel, charred oak, and smoke stand out. The flavors quickly evolve into milk chocolate, dark cherry, vanilla, and orange creamsicle and savory butter. The finish is short and smokey.
