The world is now a better place, without this jerk….
Pat Robertson, conservative evangelist and Christian Coalition founder, dies at age 93
In the wake of the 9/11 terror attacks, Roberson and fellow televangelist Jerry Falwell were harshly condemned for appearing to put blame for the tragedy on abortion doctors, feminists, gay people and the American Civil Liberties Union.
Robertson came under fire in 2010 for falsely claiming that the catastrophic earthquake in Haiti that year was caused by enslaved Black people who made a “pact with the Devil” in the 18th century as they fought for liberation from French colonizers.
In recent years, Robertson remained one of the defining faces of the Christian right, beloved by conservative audiences. He prayed for Trump’s win in the 2016 election and said people who opposed his candidacy were “revolting against what God’s plan is for America.”
The televangelist repeatedly called non-Christians “termites” akin to “a virus,” attacked Hindus as “demonic” and claimed Islam is inherently violent and not a real religion. He called feminism an “anti-family political movement that encourages women to leave their husbands, kill their children, practice witchcraft, destroy capitalism and become lesbians.” In the aftermath of the destruction and devastation wrought by Hurricane Katrina, Robertson suggested it was a result of God’s wrath over abortion.
Robertson was also staunchly anti-LGBTQ, comparing gay people to murderers and rapists and suggesting that LGBTQ orientation was a result of “demonic possession.”
Like I said, the world is now a better place, without him and those of his ilk….
IF there’s a Heaven, with St Peter at the gates, he’d kick this hypocrite, who gives Christians a bad name, in the ass and send him on his way…..
