Stuff I learned,

from TV, last night.

1. Dick Cheney 'wouldn't change a thing', about his VPship. SO, he'd still attack the wrong country after 9-11, knowing they didn't have WMD. There's a reason he's called DICK.

2. According to M Bachmann, the recent hurricane and earthquake on the East Coast is God's way of saying the Dems are spending too much money. Must be nice to have God whisper in your ear and explain things.

3. The 4 yr old boy who recently returned from heaven, and wrote a book about it, found it was surprisingly just like his pastor father said it would be, including a Jesus with big blue eyes, just like the picture in his room. Speaking of colors, there's colors in heaven that we've never seen before. Oh really? That's like saying there's numbers between 3 and 5 we've never known about. And, he totally forgot to mention this heavenly experience for OVER 4 MONTHS, until prompted about it later.

4. Dick Cheney and W have surprisingly different recollections, in their books, about who was really in charge during W's fiasco. Not sure why either would want to take credit, but I'm going with the DICK.

I'm gonna put my 2cents in here, as always. I read the Book, Heaven is for Real, by Todd Burpo. I do recall Colton bringing up the subject of his NDE to his father, Todd, not the other way around. From what I understand of Jesus, we see Him as we He wants us to see Him. If we were black, He would be possibly black if that is how we saw him; Hispanic if that is how we saw Him; Arabic if that is how we saw Him; blue eyed, flowing blond hair, fairskin, as Colton saw Him. The same with age; one does not age in Heaven. Jesus sits at the right hand of God and Gabriel sits to the left and the Holy Spirit is there as well: the Godhead- . What else do you want to know?

Wasn't mentioned for 4 months. The kid 'saw' exactly what he was programmed to expect.

Most American Christian churches have a caucasian Christ...am I correct in stating this? So Colton saw what he knew to be Jesus and what Jesus knew Colton would be familiar with. Just as Colton stating what Christ told him about why He died, he stated in childlike terms, as well as the coming war between "good" & "bad" related in terms Colton could understand.
Having read many books on NDEs and how the many experiences are all too familiar and similar To have an experience such as that would be awesome. I doubt if I would wish to return to my body.

A coming war between good and bad? Wow. That's been forecast for 20 centuries, as each generation thinks, 'Yes, it is NOW, cuz of the prophesies.' Who could argue, except, it's nothing new, as it's been preached 'Forever', and it never happens, but there's always 'believers' who know it's true, and it's gonna happen soon....

Oh yeah, get ready for the 'rapture'. cuz there have been earthquakes and rumors of war. Another myth that's been around for 2000 years, 'BUT' is just around the corner. If that's your retirement plan, you're in trouble. Just my opinion, but, nothing new, for those of us who live in the real world.

Basing your life on myth and superstition was understandable, for many generations. But now????

Whatever happens will happen and I nor you have any control over it. To believe or not to believe is one's personal choice. However, we've never had so much happen as we've had happen in this generation to this earth and it's people, places, and environment.
Fam Guy said…
NEVER had so much happen? There's a lot of people, esp the Jews in Germany, and the European populace during the Black Plague, and those around Krakatoa, and on and on, that would disagree with you.

okay, Fencepost, I could continue this and backup my statements with page after page of proof, which you would then discount, and I would throw in scripture, which you would discount; we'd be again in a stalemate, as usual, so checkmate, my friend.

OK, you win, but can I say good bye now, before you get raptured? Believe me, there's lots of people who think like me, but are afraid, cuz they don't wanna take that small chance that they are gonna burn forever. I finally got past that myth, and am not afraid to say it. Bye, bye...

Alays the one for the last word, eh?

If you believe in a 5000 yr old world, Noah's ark, and stopping the sun to continue a massacre, then I guess the
'rapture' isn't even a stretch. You gave up on reality and logic LONG ago.

I'd like to believe there's a place for my Soul rather than your "reality" and "logic". And that I DO have a future rather than nowhere. If that's crazy, then I'm with the majority of the insane. This makes me have something grander than the nothingness you have to look forward to.

Am not saying there's no God or spiritual life. I'm saying the Bible is full of myth and superstition. There's a huge difference.
