Seems I'm not the only one

who can see that so-called 'Christians' have sold their souls to support a vile human being who is about as far from being a true 'Christian' as you can get, with his constant LIES, marital unfaithfulness, greed, attitudes toward the poor and a myriad of other examples.
Why?
It's explained very well and concisely in an article in this morning's Denver Post, after an interview with one of the Liar in Chief's hypocritical supporters.

Throughout 2017, white evangelicals mostly supported Donald Trump, even when his actions as president seemed non-Christian.
With the anniversary of Trump’s inauguration at hand, I called one of Colorado’s top evangelical leaders, Jeff Hunt, who directs the politically active Centennial Institute at Colorado Christian University, to understand why.
When it comes to politics, Hunt has one of the worst cases of true-believer syndrome I’ve ever seen. Again and again, his defense of Trump is purely partisan, no matter the violent conflict it creates with Christian values and beliefs.
Given the opportunity to share gripes about Trump’s bad behavior, Hunt demurs. He disputes that Trump is a constant liar or that his actions are racist. He denies that Trump’s actions are intentionally divisive. He dodges questions about Trump’s treatment of women and his unorthodox business practices while president. He blames the media.
Hunt chooses to focus on the Trump administration’s policy and legislative actions that benefit the faith community and leaves it at that.

Christians want power. Trump gives it to them. What’s the problem?
