If you ever needed to see

how the Repub 'Supremes' rule, just look at the recent facts. Viagra and vasectomies are covered, but birth control isn't.  In the 'male vs female' Pub stance of anti-science, anti-female rulings, they remain consistent. IF, you are old, white, male, or a Big Money Corporation you are covered. If not? Good luck, with the Roberts Supreme Court. Nothing new here. And the WORST pub anti-female policy? They WILL kill, wound or mentally screw up your kid in a worthless war, with their foreign policy, where 'economic gain' trumps human casualties every time. Just ask the mothers of Viet Nam/Iraq soldiers.

It is SO UNbelievable,

as the D-bags at FOX try to make it seem like it's Obama's fault, cuz Al Queda is now entrenched in Iraq, after a 13 year war, started by Bush/Pubs, based on lies, and we didn't want to pay blood/money FOREVER, as the chicken hawks love to do. Yup, we now have Islamic radicals in a place they NEVER were before Bush invaded to pump up the price oil (VERY successfully) Totally crazy that the sheep can 'shift the blame', when it suits them. Nothing new here, as the Pubs start trouble, then slink off when the shit hits the fan, only to blame those who have to deal with their crap.

Official: Boehner says no immigration vote this year, Obama to pursue executive actions

Immigration is a HUGE issue, but the Far Right Pubs are afraid to vote on it, cuz the even FARTHER RIGHT T-Baggers will crucify them in their Gerry-mandered districts, SO, they just ignore it, while there's a crisis on the border, leaving Obama with little choice other than take executive action, BUT, this makes him an 'Imperial President' according to Bullshit Mountain, where 'The Party of No' makes no decisions, but snipes at the hard choices SOMEONE has to make, as they do nothing but bitch, as always. I get SO SICK of their crap, but nothing new here...

As a public service announcement,

during the 'BBQ season', I'm passing on one of the most simple, but delicious food recipe of summer. Simply throw some 'unshucked' ears of corn on the high rack of your BBQ grill for about 40 mins on medium heat. They 'shuck' VERY easily, with all the hairs coming off, are hard to 'overcook' and are absolutely fantastic. For something a little different, and even better, slather on the butter, then add lemon pepper and garlic salt. WOW! Easy and delicious, which is hard to beat.

If I'd been elected prez, twice,

and had the obstructionist, Party of NO! fighting everything I did, I'd do the same thing Obama is doing.
WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama says he'll keep acting on his own as long as congressional Republicans block his economic agenda.
In his weekly radio and Internet address, Obama says he has moved to attract jobs, raise workers' wages and help students pay off loans because Republican obstructionism is keeping the system rigged against the middle class. He says if it makes Republicans in Congress mad that he's trying to help people, they can join him so they can work together.

The Pubs MAIN plan, to 'return to the scene of the crime', is to wreck the economy, (like they did last time), so the people want a 'regime change'. Plan A was to just campaign AGAINST the Affordable Care Act, BUT, they've found that 71% of Americans, according to the latest Pew Poll would rather keep and fix Obamacare, rather than repeal it (19%) like Bullshit Mountain is pushing. Now, they gotta find something to be FOR, instead of being AGAINST everything, except war. Good luck...

In a 'Sea of Psychos', it's hard to stand out,

but that's what Ann Coulter does, with her appearances on FOXNews. Her latest mission, when she's not pissing off gays and scientists, is to bash soccer, or Football, as it is known around the world, where it is the #1 sport worldwide, by far. BUT, that doesn't stop the 'mouthpiece of the misinformed' from disparaging the game and all those who enjoy it.

Conservative pundit Ann Coulter is known for her questionable, often offensive rants, but her latest tirade is pure trolling of soccer fans everywhere.
In a syndicated column published less than 24 hours before what was perhaps the U.S. team's most important game in nearly four years -- when most soccer supporters were likely too busy and nervous to bother to respond to tired anti-soccer arguments --Coulter argued that a growing interest in the sport is a sign of America's "moral decay."

Just when I think the network and their contributors can't get any more 'out of touch', they never fail to 'just do it'.

In an effort to provide much needed research

AND stimulate the economy, the prez put forth 'The Brain Initiative', to study and map the human brain, as more seniors are contracting Alzheimer's (that costs society SO much in so many ways), among MANY mental problems among veterans and the general populace. Seems a logical place for funding right? WRONG, if you're the anti-science, party of NO! We can't afford it, they say, as they'd rather build more tanks, ships and fighters that the military doesn't need or want. Same old shit from those who bitch about problems, but refuse to help fix them. It gets SO old, but nothing new here...

The US finally arrested a Benghazi suspect,

after FOX/Pubs (one and the same) bitched there had been no arrests, and he is now on a 'slow boat' being interrogated as he gets closer to the US and a trial. Does Bullshit Mountain back off a bit and give some credit? OF COURSE NOT. The ALL Anti-Dem/Obama, ALL THE TIME network does nothing but denigrate the capture, saying they know more, (don't they always?) and he was 'easy'. Same old shit from the same d-bags. Don't do something and they bitch, and DO something and they bitch more. The Party of NO won't let any legislation to help create jobs past the House, no matter how necessary infrastructure repair is, BUT, when the prez goes around them to create jobs and nec repairs, they plan to SUE him which can go NOWHERE, cuz the Dem controlled Senate has to approve it, BUT that doesn't stop the numbnuts, just like when they voted to defund Obamacare OVER FIFTY times, knowing it was useless. What a bunch of clowns, who can now claim 'We're finally DOING something. We're suing the president'. What a joke, from the usual suspects, as FOX continues to run comment from 'The Dick' Cheney, criticizing foreign policy (cuz HE'S such an expert) and interviews one of Hillary's disgruntled legal 'victims', from 1975. YES, from 39 years ago, and the sheep lap it up. Talk about 'Fair and Balanced'.

Thursday, June 26, 2014

In the quest to be 'Fair and Balanced',

one of the 'headline' stories on Bullshit Mountain today exposed the fact that Bill Clinton, during a Christmas shopping trip for (publishing) clients, bought FOURTEEN Swiss watches at about $500 a pop. OH MY GOD! What a waste! I guess that proves Hillary is too 'out of touch' to be prez, as the clowns will go to any depth to rile the sheep. In other 'unforgivable' news, Obama's travel agency misspelled 'Reagan' as Regan. Heads are gonna roll.  FOX news. What a joke....

Am not usually a big Russell Brand fan,

but he had some good points when he ripped into FOXNews contributor Jeanine Pirro, for advancing the FOX/Pub plan of 'bombing, bombing and more bombing'.

In a video posted Tuesday on YouTube, British comedian Russell Brand called Fox News network “fanatical, terrorist, propagandist” and ripped into host Judge Jeanine Pirro for her emotionally-charged commentary regarding the crisis in Iraq and President Obama’s refusal to order sustained airstrikes.
On her Fox News program over the weekend, Pirro stated that the solution to the recent violence by the ISIS terrorist ‘army’ was to “bomb them” and “keep bombing them, and bomb them, and again.”
“When they do these bombings, it creates more insurgents, that’s what creates them,” Brand insisted. “Don’t think of a bomb as going down there and destroying stuff, think of it as like a seed that goes into the ground, and grows insurgents out of it, it creates more terrorism, doing it.”

Most Pubs I know, never leave their couch, (let alone the country), and don't understand world resentment to the US, after Viet Nam and Iraq, where swagger and arrogance, coupled with 'shock and awe' isn't appreciated on the world stage, esp after basing attacks on easily proven lies.
Nothing new here, but it makes the chicken hawks feel real 'tough', as they sit on their asses, while advocating 'more bombs'.

Good article today,

as the Pubs continue to bitch about Obama's foreign policy, which seems outrageous after what they did to us.

'As for former Vice President Dick Cheney complaining about Obama’s foreign policy, that’s a bit like the old definition of chutzpah: killing your parents and then pleading for mercy because you’re an orphan. In the Bush/Cheney years, we lost thousands of Americans and hundreds of thousands of Iraqi lives, we became mired in Afghanistan, Iran vastly expanded the number of centrifuges in its nuclear program, and North Korea expanded its arsenal of nuclear weapons. And much of the world came to despise us.
Blowing things up is often satisfying, and Obama’s penchant for muddling along instead, with restraint, is hurting him politically. But that’s our weakness more than his. Obama’s foreign policy is far more deft — and less dangerous — than the public thinks, and he doesn’t deserve the harsh assessments. If there’s one thing we should have learned in the Bush/Cheney years, it’s that swagger and invasion are overrated as foreign policy instruments.'

BUT, that doesn't stop the Pubs from wanting more.....

FOX likes to ask probing questions, like,

Mr. Obama, Where Are our 5 Million Missing Jobs? As a public service, I'll go ahead and answer.

As a result of GW's disastrous reign of error, when he caused nearly irrepairable harm to our economy, (worst recession since Great Depression) millions of jobs and trillions of dollars worth of home equity and 401K savings 'went up in smoke'. Any chart you wanna look at (Google it cuz you won't trust me) shows these losses slowly, but gradually coming back, nearly 6 years later, incl, the stock market, home values (both, highest ever) and most of the jobs, BUT, because the Pubs have fought economic recovery in 'every way possible' cuz that's the only way they can reutrn to 'the scene of the crime', full employment remains elusive, BUT, we are MUCH better off than we were when GW slithered out of town with a 22% approval rating and 2 'unpaid for' wars raging. Hope this answers your questions, but if you didn't already know that, you are either willfully ignorant, a FOX sheep or, most likely, both.
You're welcome.

After nearly 100%

of the 'legitimate' news agencies scoffed at Dick Cheney for his remarks criticizing the current prez, after what he and the former prez did in Iraq, (totally based on lies), and now that over 70% of American admit 'Iraq was a mistake', there's only one place where 'The Dick' can keep spouting his bullshit, and that's on Bullshit Mountain, the Pub Propaganda Network. Yesterday on Hannity's show, where reality is never a consideration, Sean kissed Cheney's ass and they had this insane conversation. I'm sure the sheep lapped it up, but for logical, intelligent viewers it seemed UN-believable, even for the stooges at FOX. See it here; http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/06/25/sean-hannity-dick-cheney-interview_n_5529053.html?utm_hp_ref=media
Also, in their efforts to be 'Fair and Balanced' (Funniest slogan EVER) they sometimes miss good stories/videos, like this one of their anchorman Gregg Jarretts being arrested, cuz there'e just no room with the 1000's of Benghazi stories/ http://www.aol.com/article/2014/06/25/police-video-shows-fox-news-anchor-gregg-jarretts-arrest/20919930/?icid=maing-grid7%7Chtmlws-main-bb%7Cdl7%7Csec1_lnk2%26pLid%3D493208

While admitting 'I could go either way',

in the Colorado Guv race, I don't have that problem when it comes to Dems vs Pubs. There are MANY gray areas in politics, and when I take 'Are You a Conservative or Liberal?' written tests, I find that I am approx 10% more Lib (60% to 40%) than Con. However, there are some areas that are OBVIOUS when it comes to which political party makes more sense. Pubs claim sexuality is a choice and gays can be 'cured'. Remember when you had to choose? Didn't think so. Pubs claim climate change is a hoax. It's not a hoax, but they ARE a joke for fighting over 97% of Climatologists. Pubs claim 'Corporations Are People' and votes and politicians should be for sale to multi-billionaires like the Koch Bros. That's total bullshit. Also, the Pubs love to start wars, like Iraq, not caring about human consequences. That is SO wrong on so many levels. And, the Pubs would rather 'shut it down' when dealing with govt issues, hurting the 'little people', rather than compromise and negotiate, which has always been the basis for good govt. For those reasons, if no others, I am firmly ANTI-Repub, even though I'm not exactly PRO-Dem. Really easy decision when you look at the facts....

When I first took the step,

from remodeling and small construction projects to actually buying land and building 'spec' houses I needed a friendly banker, cuz I didn't have that kinda cash. At first I just ran into typical 'suits' who said 'no', but then I met with a former dairy farm owner, who'd sold his land outside Lafayette, CO, to build Indian Peaks Golf Course, while he developed the residential land around it. He started Heritage Bank, and I was one of his first customers, as he trusted me and lent me the money for my first few houses. During our relationship I got to know and like him as I met with him regularly while I built homes and he had his own (LARGE) house built on the 17th hole at Indian Peaks, and I was active in his first political (R) races. He gradually expanded his first bank into over a dozen more, before he sold them and successfully ran for the US Congress. Now, my buddy Bob Beauprez is the Repub candidate for gov in Colorado and I've got to decide whether to support him or Guv Hickenlooper in the next election. Hick has really disappointed me lately, with his gun control and death penalty dscisions, BUT, Bob was a disappointment when he was a Congressman cuz he just voted a straight Repub (GWBush) ticket. Gonna wait and hear them on the issues, but NOT gonna vote an automatic partisan ballot as most people do. We'll see....

It's Wednesday, so that means

rightwingnut Rick Santelli has another of his X-Spurts on his CNBC Financial Fisaco (Santelli Report), so they can congratulate each other for seeing something nefarious going on, as in ALL the  money managers, as well as Wall Street are wrong, but they they are right, as per inflation and a bubble economy. He always starts by introducing his stooge as a 'prestigious Wall Street Journal writer', BUT, he never mentions that the WSJ lost it's credibility when it was recently purchased by Rupert Murdoch, the money man behind FOX News, who bought a platform for his propaganda when he paid over $100 million to cable providers to air his (Repubs) version of reality. Again, today, Rick started with a litany against all things Dem and Obama, leading to his point of 'how could anyone who's for Obamacare be trusted with ANYTHING?' Same old shit from the same people, on a regular basis, BUT, it doesn't change the fact that Santelli and his stooges have been consistently WRONG for MANY years and nothing has changed, BUT, the sheep still lap it up, cuz it's what they wanna hear and believe. Good riddance between them and their money, although they couldn't have much left if they've listened to their 'financial gurus', IF they had any to start with.  LOL....

Ever since Harry S Truman,

Presidents and VP's have been retiring with pensions, cuz that's just the way it is. No Big Deal, unless you're FOX News, where they bitch about 'all things Dem'. Seems Bullshit Mountain doesn't think Joe Biden oughta be 'living off the taxpayers' (from today's headlines) when he retires. FOX is always full of bullshit, but when they go off on the VP getting a pension, you gotta wonder. Unless you're a sheep that is, then it makes perfect sense, after they've been all over Hillary cuz she said they owed more $ than they had when they left the White House. Seems it took millions to defend themselves from the 'Whitewater Witchhunt'  that went on for years, until Ken Star finally found the Monica story. Then, all of a sudden, a blowjob is the worst thing that's ever happened in America. WAY worse than starting a war based on lies. What a bunch of bullshit, that was 'worst ever' until Benghazi. Now, that's the new 'worst ever'. Iraq, at a cost of trillions and hundreds of thousands of casualties? No Big Deal, on Bullshit Mountain. Hey, everyone makes mistakes. Unless you're a Dem, then it's always 'the worst ever'. Am SO tired of their crap, as they'll say/do anything to return Pubs to 'the scene of the crime'.

As I've said here, before,

I don't think any adult should go to prison for using cannabis, but I'm not a big fan of 'concentrating' the THC, cuz today's pot doesn't need to be any stronger, who know's what else is going into it, and dosages aren't consistent or well labeled. Had my feelings confirmed at an outdoor concert in Niwot last week, when 'The Long Run', an Eagles/Joe Walsh tribute band played Thursday night. Witnessed some 'erratic behavior' from ingesting something, (not sure what) but it wasn't a good experience. Like I've said before, I have no problem with the basic plant, but when you start messing with it, strange things can, and do, happen. Hopefully Colorado can get it figured out....

As I watch world news,

I see that there are more refugees now (over 50 million) than at any time since WWII. GW and the Pubs should be SO proud, as their war, to pump up the price of oil (SUCCESS!) has destabilized a huge part of the world. What a bunch of crap, that GW finally realizes, but Cheney, the architect, just talks shit, and the sheep, who don't have a clue (never have and never will) lap it up, while blaming Obama, who inherited the Repub mess, (worst since the Great Depression,) as they bitch, cuz, 'It ain't all fixed, fast enuff', even though they've fought EVERY effort, and it's THEIR mess, unless you watch/believe FOX, then it's all OBAMA'S fault. 'Un-believable', unless you're a sheep.

Not bragging, BUT,

(well maybe just a little), I've been offered AdSense by Google, who says I'm eligible (with an average of over 500 readers/day) to run ads on my blog and get paid 'by the hit'. BUT, I'm not gonna do it. Just seems wrong. I do this to blow off steam and to educate those who read and BELIEVE the crap from FOX, as if they weren't merely the propaganda arm of the Repub party, which is obvious to anyone with a functioning brain, which UNfortunately disqualifies most of the sheep. I am thinking of making a change though, in the name. FamGuy is no longer appropriate, and I'd love be 'Auntie Fox', with a great logo, BUT, I'm afraid I'd lose my base, (who couldn't find the 'new' name) that has taken years to build. A base that appreciates facts like, 'Rupert Murdoch PAID over $100 million to get FOX carried by cable TV providers, rather than BEING paid as all 'legitimate' news agencies are'. Yes, you're welcome. But, will it change anything for the average FOX sheep? Of course not. They know what they wanna hear, where they can hear it, AND it makes them feel SO smug and superior in their far-right-wing-nut world. I just don't understand how they can breathe, with their heads planted SO deeply and firmly....

Just like I predicted they would,

the d-bags at FOX, led by Steve Douche-y and Friends, have insinuated that the arrest of the Benghazi bomber, (after they had bitched that there were no arrests), was somehow 'fishy' cuz it came out on the same day that Hillary had an 'Exclusive' (FOX words) interview with them, (although she had one an hour later on CNN, and with about every other news show on TV). Welcome to FOXHole world, where nothing has to make sense, CUZ, it's just the sheep who actually listen, and they believe EVERYTHING from Bullshit Mountain. Just like they bitched cuz Obama didn't bring home the last US prisoner, then bitched when he did, they bitched when there were no arrests on Benghazi, then bitched when there was. And the sheep said, Amen. Nothing new here...., but it IS really funny.
Catch it all on The Daily Show, with Jon Stewart, just before he goes into 'Deaf Party Jam', that shows a BUNCH of Repub-appointed experts explain that Climate Change is REAL, while other Pubs,  ( in opposition to over 97% of scientists who are Climatologists), begin their lame excuses, time after time, with  'I'm no scientist, BUT...'   Same old shit from Bullshit Mountain, and the sheep lap it up.

It's true, I like to make fun

of 'The Dick' Cheney, and the nitwits who listen to him, AND love to point out absurdities for the sheep at FOX (who can never 'get it'), but it takes a true comedian, like Stephen Colbert, to really show how idiotic those fools actually are. See 'The Dick' and his 'Balls of Mass Destruction' here http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/06/20/colbert-iraq-pack-cheney-balls-of-mass-destruction_n_5515504.html?ir=Comedy

One of the best things about legal pot in Colorado,

including not having your life ruined by being busted with a small amount of grass, OR all the money that's going to schools, etc instead of the Mexican cartels, AND, not filling the prisons with non-violent smokers, AND firing up the economy at a record pace, is the fact that there's FINALLY gonna be some honest medical research being done on the medicinal effects of cannabis, which are very real. The drug (cannabis) stock that Cramer likes so much, GW Pharmaceuticals is a British company that's finally gonna get some competition from the US, after Nixon and the Pubs classed MJ the same (Schedule 1) as heroin and meth, so they could punish those who didn't like their war in 'Nam. We're already seeing LOTS of people coming to Colorado to treat themselves and kids with meds they can't get in their Conservative home states, and just to catch a buzz. Finally, there'll be a way around the Catch 22 that the right-wing-nuts spout, as in 'there's no proof that THC helps, cuz, IT'S AGAINST THE LAW TO RESEARCH AND PROVE THE BENEFITS'. Nothing new here, as the conservative brain does flip flops in it's efforts to keep America just like their ideal American family, in 'Father Knows Best', before America was ruined by the hippies cuz they didn't wanna fight and die in Viet Nam, which was a lot like the Pub's Iraq, only with a 'draft', for those who didn't volunteer for their stupid war.

In a 'Nutshell', it's easy to see,

the Pub 'disconnect from reality', as you read what one of their candidates has to say about the national debt, and local jobs. This all makes sense, until you remove your head from your ass, which the sheep seldom do.

GAUTIER, Miss. (AP) — Republican primary challenger Chris McDaniel puts the nation's $17 trillion debt at the center of his bid to represent Mississippi in the Senate, bashing six-term Sen. Thad Cochran as a profligate spender who has contributed to a problem that McDaniel considers "immoral."
At the same time, the potential tea party hero pledges support for Mississippi's military installations, defense contractors and public education system — all of which depend on hundreds of millions of federal dollars.
"We have to put aside some of our personal interests if we're going to save this republic," McDaniel told voters at a recent campaign stop on the state's Gulf Coast, then added, "I'm going to fight for the shipyards and our military."

This is from a typical Red State, that sucks up tax dollars at a MUCH higher rate than the Blue States who pay their bills. Don't believe it? Look it up, and you'll see the top Payers are all blue, and the top Takers are all Red. Nothing new here, but if you listen and believe Bullshit Mountain, you're sure it's just the opposite.

The Pubs gotta be concerned

or downright worried, that their best candidate for prez, Rand Paul, is totally against their foreign policy of 'ongoing, never-ending wars', on the other side of the world. Rand, like his father Ron, can see what the rest of the party, doesn't, although to the majority of American people, it's obvious. The Pub war machine is good for the big-money Pub 'defense' contractors, but disastrous for everyone else. Will be interesting to see the Repub debates as Rand Paul logic butts heads with Pub dogma. I'll be watching and enjoying them tear themselves apart, first appealing to the TeaBaggers to get the nominations, by being as FAR Right as possible, then backing off all their 'firm' postions to try and appeal to mainstream America, where they have a HUGE problem. What a bunch of clowns, just not funny. (Pic is Pub foreign policy, Shock and Awe, against innocent civilians, who lost elec, water and sewer, even if they weren't blown up.)  It was widely reported, and I believe it, the The Dick came in his pants as the bombs exploded.

In the FOX/Pub world,

(one and the same), it's absolutely IMPOSSIBLE, that the Lerner's computer crashed and the info was lost, from 2011. BUT, they love to say that Bush/Cheney/CIA/military were ALL fooled by 'Curveball', the one informant that the Bushies believed, as per Saddam's WMD's. Yup, that makes sense, as Joe Wilson and Valerie Plame offered solid proof that they didn't exist and were 'outed' as CIA. In the Pub world this make perfect sense, but those of us in the REAL world can see that it is MUCH more likely that a computer crashed than ALL the intel was wrong before Bush/Cheney got the war they wanted SO much, to raise the price of oil by over 1000%. Just a coincidence they were both in 'the business', and all their friends, relatives and partners made a 'killing', at the expense of those who actually 'got killed', and wounded. Gotta love them war-monger Pubs....

In their ongoing crusade,

to provide the sheep with 'Fair and Balanced' news, Bullshit Mountain, ( sandwiched between the thousands of Benghazi stories ), is running interviews with a rape victim, whose rapist was successfully defended by Hillary (cuz that's what lawyers are paid to do), back in 1975. That's right, FOX is dredging up anti-Hillary stuff, from 1975, in their on-going efforts to elect Pubs, at all costs. This crap makes sense to the sheep, and that's their audience, but, the rest of us look at their crap and say, 'Are you serious'? FOX news, what a joke. Just not funny anymore, in their blatant Pro-Repub propaganda. Oops sorry, I've been reminded recently that FOX just 'leans right' a bit. Life must be tough with a brain that processes information in that way.

As per usual, the Pubs bitch

about immigration and blame Obama, BUT, they refuse to do anything on an immigration bill, cuz the TeaBaggers will vote out anyone (just ask Eric Cantor) who compromises or negotiates on the issue. SO, we have a broken system that half the Congress won't even discuss, cuz they're afraid of the D-bags, (TeaBaggers) in their districts that are SO Gerrymandered they only have to worry about the Pub vote, and they're able to control elections with a minority of voters. It's how we got GW. Now they're making it even worse by changing voting rules wherever and whenever they can, cuz we have a bought and paid for Repub Supreme Court where 'corporations are people' and 'money=votes'. What a F'd up system. Doesn't stop the Boehners and McConnels of the world from bitchin about immigration, although they will do NOTHING to fix the problem. Sorta like Iraq and the SLOWLY improving economy. Typical Pub bullshit, from the people who want an old, white, hetero male dominated society and anything else is blasphemy. Nothing new here...

After being SO consistently wrong,

the question remains, 'Why would ANYONE listen to Dick Cheney" This 'part of an article, today', says a lot.

"Cheney, Wolfowitz, Bremer and Kristol were architects and apologists of a policy so fraught with miscalculation that in most countries it would qualify for criminal prosecution.
Dick Cheney has not the least amount of credibility on the Iraq situation, either this one or the one 11 years ago. He has audaciously illustrated time and again that he has no capacity for self-reflection, introspection, analysis or questioning on issues that involve life and death on a large-scale. These qualities are important to human growth; Dick's growth was stunted at a very early age".

The answer to 'why would ANYONE listen to him'?
It's only FOX and their viewers, which is as close to 'NOBODY' as you can get, when you consider their double digit IQ audience.
The only way to shut him down is to pay him no attention. That would be far more devastating to him than hurling verbal jousts that are richly deserved and instinctual to the well-adjusted and reasonable among us.
So I offer this plea that in the name of all that is good, can we please refrain from giving Dick and his stooges a platform? The world would be a better place.

For a couple minutes, I thought MAYBE

Fox News' had developed a bit of integrity when Megyn Kelly confronted former Vice President Dick Cheney on her Wednesday show about his track record in Iraq.
After quoting Cheney's recent op-ed on the war, in which he said of President Obama, “Rarely has a U.S. president been so wrong about so much at the expense of so many,” she put this scorcher of a question to him:
"Time and time again, history has proven that you got it wrong as well in Iraq, sir. You said there was no doubt Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction. You said we would be greeted as liberators. You said the insurgency was in its last throes back in 2005, and you said that after our intervention, extremists would have to 'rethink their strategy of jihad.' Now, with almost a trillion dollars spent there, with almost 4,500 American lives lost there, what do you say to those who say you were so wrong about so much at the expense of so many?"

BUT, I was quickly brought back to reality with 'The Dick's' answer, "We inherited a situation where 'THERE WAS NO DOUBT' that Saddam had WMD's", and Megyn, the great journalist she is, let him slide and then cozied up to him.
What a load of bullshit! Nothing new here, on Bullshit Mountain, BUT, even Geraldo Rivera said Cheney's comments were 'pathetic'.

Rick Santelli, the right-wing-nut on CNBC,

who got his 15 minutes of fame a few years ago by going on a screaming rant, claiming Obama was gonna 'wreck the economy, with inflation', while completely ignoring the FACTS, that GW and the Pubs ACTUALLY wrecked the economy and Obama is still trying to 'fix' it, is still spouting his bullshit, on a regular basis, 5 years after being proven wrong EVERY day/week/month/year it doesn't happen. Today he had another of his X-Spurt guests, whom he always introduces as 'REALLY SMART, cuz they agree with him. When faced with the gov't stats that proved them wrong, AGAIN, they laughed it off, saying 'you can't believe govt employees, cuz you can't fire them'. Then, when faced with bond yields, where real money proves them REALLY wrong, every day, they claimed, 'Money managers are just as stupid as govt employees'. This is what passes for 'wisdom' in the right-wing-nut world of 'Oooops, wrong again, but ain't gonna admit it'. Nothing new here, as the sheep eat it up.

Although the Pubs have never been very good

at 'polling', (just ask president Romney and Karl Rove) they love to quote the ones they perceive to be of help to them, such as '54% of Americans don't approve of Obama's foreign policy', which is true and has been plastered all over FOX. BUT, they don't quote the 2nd part of the poll, which asked, 'Who do you trust most, Pubs or Dems, to fix it?' That's cuz the same respondents picked Dems 2-1 over the Pubs, after seeing the Repub's foreign policy, of boots, bombs and bullets. Americans, other than the sheep, who don't have a clue, are sick and tired of it. Nothing new here...

It's one of the funniest, most idiotic

quotes he's ever had, and that includes MANY, from 'The Dick' Cheney.

In an Op-Ed published with his daughter, Liz, in The Wall Street Journal on Tuesday, the Cheneys write:
“Rarely has a U.S. president been so wrong about so much at the expense of so many."

Oh really, 'DICK'? And the Pubs think Hillary has brain damage? Hmm, can I think of another prez who was SO wrong and hurt SO many? Just when I think FOX and the Pubs, (one and the same) can't get any worse, 'The Dick' comes in to prove they can. BUT, the sheep love this swill and eat it up. LMAO....

Whenever I wonder,

how stupid people can be, all I gotta do is watch FOX, where I see 'The Dick' Cheney explaining to the sheep how bad Obama's foreign policy is. The main architect of the disastrous war he and the Bushies lied us into, promising WMD's, NOT over a hundred thousand troops being needed, and being greeted as liberators, who now can't travel the world cuz he'd be locked up as a war criminal, is Bullshit Mountain's X-Spurt on foreign relations. 'The Dick' has found an audience of  'Dick'heads, with no memory of history, who'll agree with him, as long as he's virulently anti-Obama, who's been stuck with cleaning up their mess. Unbelievable and sad, but true, in the Bizarro world of FOX news, where the sheep never let a few 'facts' get in the way of their opinions.

George W. Bush may well have been a disaster of a president (in a 2010 Siena College Research Institute survey, 238 presidential scholars ranked Bush among the five “worst ever” presidents in American history), but at least he has the dignity and grace — or shame and humility — to recede from public life with his family and his painting, and not chide and meddle with the current administration as it tries to right his wrong.
Mr. Cheney, meanwhile, is still trying to bend history toward an exoneration of his guilt and an expunging of his record. But history, on this, is stiff, and his record is written in blood.

At least Mitch McConnell was honest,

when he said the MAIN aim of the Pubs was to make sure Obama didn't get re-elected. FOX News, the propaganda arm of the Repubs takes it a step further. Their goal is to elect Pubs, by whatever lies and schemes they deem necessary. Is there any doubt why the clowns who get their 'news' and 'facts' from Bullshit Mountain don't have a clue?

As Iraq continues to implode,

after Georgie Boy and 'The Dick' lied us into war, you'd think the Pubs would be contrite and try to help fix their damage. Nope. These are the Pubs, and they don't 'Fix Things', like the economy, they just wreck stuff, then complain when it doesn't get fixed fast enough. The Repubs latest response to the damage they've caused?

1 day ago ... Lou Barletta (R-PA) commented that House Republicans most likely have enough votes to impeach President Obama.

What a bunch of assholes....

Some people 'Just don't get it'

Never have and never will, but that doesn't stop them from spouting their nonsense.

Iraq and the Neocons: The Sequel
Neocons and elite media personalities who got everything wrong on Iraq now darken my TV screen telling me to ignore the invasion, the eight-year occupation, the lies about weapons of mass destruction, "mushroom clouds" becoming "smoking guns," the torture at Abu Ghraib prison and everything else, and pretend the war started with General David Petraeus's miraculous "surge" where everything was wonderful in Iraq until the "dove" Obama pulled the plug. It's a nice narrative if your goal is partisan advantage, but like so much else we've heard from policy elites regarding Iraq, it has nothing to do with reality.

Can you imagine how much worse the already terrible situation would be if Obama had armed the Syrians, as the chicken hawks wanted. Those weapons would now be used against Iraq. AND, if he'd followed the chicken hawks advice and bombed Iran, cuz they were developing nuclear power, the entire area would be in flames. I'm sure the Pubs would be loving it, cuz they could jump into ANOTHER' unwinnable war, as they love to do.

GW's disastrous legacy,

isn't confined to wrecking the US economy. He will be forever remembered for his Big Adventure in Iraq, that will have consequences for decades.

The Iraq disaster remains George W. Bush's enduring folly, and the Republican attempt to shift the blame to the Obama presidency is obscene nonsense. This was, and will always be, viewed properly as Bush's quagmire, a murderous killing field based on blatant lies.
This showcase of American deceit, obvious to the entire world, began with the invented weapons of mass destruction threat that Bush, were he even semi-cognizant of the intelligence data, must have known represented an egregious fraud. So was his nonsensical claim that Saddam Hussein had something to do with the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon, when in fact he was Osama bin Laden's most effective Arab opponent.
Yet Bush responded to the 9/11 attacks by overthrowing a leader who had banished al-Qaida from Iraq and who had been an ally of the United States in the war to contain Iran's influence in the region.

The stupidest thing? Those who look at what Bush and the Pubs did and say, 'I want the Pubs back in the White House". I have no qualms saying, what a bunch of idiots...

Not always a huge fan

of Harry Reid, but he was 'right on' when he responded to 'The Dick' Cheney, who is giving advice to the Obama administration, through FOX news, although Cheney can't travel much of the world, cuz he'd be (rightfully) jailed for being a war criminal. 'The Dick', who is the person MOST responsible for the HUGE mess in Iraq, after he and the Bushies started an illegal war, based on lies, that cost trillions, had hundreds of thousands of casualties and totally destabilized that part of the world, is now bitching cuz Obama isn't following his advice.

Reid did not mince words in his response, describing Wolfowitz’s critiques of Obama’s Iraq policy as “bizarre” and clarifying that he was talking about “Billy” Kristol the writer, “not the comedian” Billy Crystal. But he saved his strongest broadside for the Cheneys.
“If there is one thing that this country does not need, it’s that we should be taking advice from Dick Cheney on wars. Being on the wrong side of Dick Cheney is to be on the right side of history,”

Seems impossible, but,

Lucy Li just qualified for the US Women's Open Golf Tourney. http://www.sfgate.com/sports/kroichick/article/Pros-advise-caution-to-11-year-old-U-S-Women-s-5557089.php
after shooting a 68. No big deal? Lucy Li is 11 years old, has been playing for only 4 years and drives the ball over 230 yards. Just when I though my golf game was coming around...

Couldn't have said it better myself...

'Evolution and the Bible Literalists' is an excellent article, in the NYTimes today, that explains why the 'Fundamentalists' are easily proven wrong, on MANY fronts, as they claim the Bible is 'literally true'. It is downright scary, and embarrassing, that so many 'so-called' educated adults claim to believe a literal Bible. Good article here. http://www.nytimes.com/2014/06/16/opinion/evolution-and-the-bible-literalists.html

Cuz it was 'Senior Tuesday',

at the theater, we saw the movie 'Chef' yesterday. It was OK, but I expected more after seeing the cast and the reviews. I couldn't understand how John Favreau could be cast with Sophia Vergara as his ex-wife and Scarlett Johansson as his girlfriend. BUT, when I saw the 'credits' at the end, I saw where he wrote and directed the movie. All of a sudden it made sense...

The Denver Post, this morning,

had a good article http://www.denverpost.com/editorials about the recent wave of children inundating the southern border. They pointed out how the Pubs were screaming that it's all 'Obama's fault', BUT, they conveniently forget that the Dem controlled Senate passed a $25 billion dollar bill that nearly doubled the number of border guards and beefed up fencing and other measures. When it got to the Pub controlled House, it was immediately shot down. I get SO sick of the same old crap from the Pubs, who screw things up, then bitch and moan when the effects of their policies (like Iraq) come back to bite them. Nothing new here...

Am watching Hillary on FOX,

getting tag teamed by Bret and Greta, and SURPRISE, I think FOX really screwed up, by showing the sheep that she is an extremely intelligent, female candidate. Don't imagine that many of the denizens of Bullshit Mountain are actually listening, except when they smell blood in the water, BUT, she is doing a fantastic job of answering the questions that they keep hammering her with. You go girl...

Had another unfortunate incident,

where I tried to reason with someone who gets his 'facts' from FOX news, and realized there is no middle ground. Just for the record, the attack in Benghazi started with the first chants outside the embassy at 9:40 PM. By 11:30 there were 4 dead and the attackers had already left. Hillary did NOT have 6 hours to get help there, no matter WHAT the clowns on Bullshit Mountain want people to believe. Could go on with other 'facts' like US oil production, that is the highest EVER and Obama isn't fighting all oil drilling, and the number of jobs from Keystone Pipeline, (the company actually building the pipeline claims a little over 9000, counting part time and temporary, with 50 'permanent'), NOT 20,000. But once someone has gone over to 'the dark side', and gets their 'facts' from the Repub Propaganda Machine, masquerading as a 'news' agency, all hope is lost... As I've always said, everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but NOT their own facts.
And BTW, FOX is not just 'Right Leaning', they are WAY past that, PLUS,

The U.S. exported more gasoline, diesel and other fuels than it imported in 2011 for the first time since 1949, the Energy Department said.
Shipments abroad of petroleum products exceeded imports by 439,000 barrels a day, the department said today in the Petroleum Supply Monthly report. In 2010, daily net imports averaged 269,000 barrels.

I like the guv, John Hickenlooper, MOST of the time,

but occasionally, cuz he's human, he screws up, pretty bad. One of his worst, in my opinion, was when he pardoned Nathan Dunlap, who had killed several coworkers when he robbed a pizza place,  had been sentenced to die and exhausted all his appeals. His latest fiasco was supporting a knee-jerk gun control bill that said govt background checks were required for ALL private gun sales between individuals, and he signed the bill into law. HUGE mistake, and now it's coming back to bite him, as it should.

In the fantasy world of FOX and the Pubs,

(one and the same), they are now rewriting history, and in their strange world, Obama has 'blown it', after the Bushies invaded Iraq, to 'give them freedom'. However, in the real world, the record clearly shows what reasons the Pubs gave for attacking the oil basket of the world, and destabilizing the Mideast.

WASHINGTON -- The argument for going to war in Iraq was clearly made. Over and over again, Saddam Hussein was said to be a turn-of-the-millennium Hitler, a madman bent on destroying America with his stockpiles of weapons of mass destruction.
Of course, that turned out to be false, but at the time, the justification was no mystery. The word "weapons" shows up 1,107 times in the Congressional Record during the period when the House and Senate were voting to grant President George W. Bush the authority to use force against Iraq. The more specific "weapons of mass [destruction or murder]" comes up 368 times.
Now, with Iraq on the verge of unraveling after the departure of U.S. forces, conservative pundits and some politicians who were wrong about Iraq then are declaiming a new reason for the 2003 invasion of Iraq, saying it was to liberate the Iraqis. The United States sacrificed 4,500 Americans in the name of freedom for the Iraqis, and President Barack Obama is blowing it, they say.

Yup, it was all about 'freedom', not WMD's. How stupid do they think we are? Oh yeah, they're used to dealing with the sheep, who don't have a clue. SURPRISE! We're not all that ignorant.

As the Border Patrol is totally overwhelmed,

with waves of illegal immigrants, a reasonable person would assume that Congressmen would work together for a solution. The 'reasonable person' example does NOT include Repubs, who sent a clear message after they dumped Eric Cantor, one of the FEW Pubs who would even discuss the problem, in an attempt to fix it. In Pub world, any compromise or negotiation is seen as a sign of weakness, and you're gonna get your ass handed to you by the Tea Party and other Far Right-wingers. Just ask Eric, and all the other Pubs who are now shaking in their boots. Their idea of governing is to 'Shut It Down', then try to blame the other side. What a bunch of idiots... PS. Need more proof they live in a fantasy world? Look at this headline from FOX. RNC leader Priebus says Cantor loss, immigration debate hasn't divided GOP

In a preview of 'More To Come',

the Idaho GOP confererence was disbanded after the the Far-Right Pubs weren't conservative enough for the TeaBaggers.

The Idaho Republican running for House majority leader had to adjourn the state GOP convention on Saturday without accomplishing much of anything, after infighting brought the meeting to a total standstill.
Idaho Republicans met for a three-day convention starting on Thursday, with the goal of passing several amendments to the party's platform and electing a new party chair. But the event became a battle between the tea party and its foes, as the far right aimed to make up for the beating they took in the state's May 20 primary election by removing contentiously elected delegates. Those delegates accused tea partiers of attempting to work the system to ensure a tea partier became the new state GOP chair.
By Saturday, all 15 delegates from Bannock County were successfully unseated, while attempts to unseat delegates from Ada and Twin Falls counties were in the works. Rep. Raul Labrador (R-Idaho), the convention chairman, ended up bringing the meeting to an end before delegates could elect a new state party chair or vote on any party platform amendments, as they had set out to do.
“This is as low as the party can go,” said Labrador, according to the AP. “We have hit bottom. I think the party has no choice but to go up from here.

The good news? As I've said before, it's fun(ny) to watch and the Pubs are guaranteeing themselves to be totally unelectable in 2016. You'd a thunk they'd have learned something after pushing Mitt so far to the right, but no, this is the GOP. What a crew....

Good article here, by Dennis Kucinich,

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/dennis-j-kucinich/stop-calling-the-iraq-war_b_5499375.html

that basically says, Stop calling the Iraq War, by the Bushies, a 'mistake'. It was much more than that. It was a series of lies, by those who knew better (Bush, Cheney, Rummy and others), but they did it anyway, and there are HUGE consequences, that have developed over the last decade and will continue to be felt, well into the future. "Mistake' my ass. It was all planned and executed, by those who knew better, but did it anyway, for short term gain. They should be tried and convicted in a court of law. Lots of countries across the world would be glad to do it. Pic shows them vowing to raise the price of oil by over 1000%, (and they did it.)

Sometimes I read 'Politico',

which is a 'right of center' news organization, but, compared to the bullshit from FOX, is downright progressive. They have a good article today, explaining how Obama has been overshadowed by the Bush legacy (disaster), and it makes a lot of sense, although the clowns at FOX would have us believe the statute of limitations on wrecking the economy of a country should be over when the culprit slithers out of town.

 6/16/14 5:00 AM EDT
Six years in, Barack Obama is still battling a Bush hangover.
The rising chaos in Iraq — and the blame game over who’s responsible — are the latest reminders that halfway through his own second term, he’s still often more consumed by dealing with the legacy of President George W. Bush than building his own.
Obama supporters see a president who found himself so deep in so many holes from his very first day in office that cleaning up the aftermath of the previous eight years was going to take at least eight of his own: getting out of Iraq and Afghanistan, stabilizing the housing market and repairing the larger economic collapse, all while chopping a $1.2 trillion deficit in half.

The headlines at FOX,

as Iraq falls further into chaos, after Bush/Cheney's disastrous war, based on lies, asks the Probing question:
OPINION: Did Obama's foreign policy blunders sow seeds of disaster?

Yup, on Bullshit Mountain they have NO PROBLEM with the Bush/GOP war, BUT, they think the guy that inherited the 'steaming pile' of GW's 'foreign policy', should have had it ALL FIXED by now. What a bunch of hypocritical idiots. Nothing new here, as the 'seeds of disaster' have nothing to do with the people who sowed them? Total jerks....

Scott did a great job,

on Bugg's Memorial yesterday at the Event Center. Lots of good memories of the most unique person I have ever known, Kevin Manning (or Buggs, to all who knew and loved him), who passed at age 53, this June. Great video presentation, (stills and 'movies'), lots of stories and I got to spend time with his daughter and family, as I could see Bugg's spirit in the family's eyes. Then it was a memorial poker game and a few memorial beers for the gentle giant who always made us laugh. Good job, Scott.

I hope he has a back-up plan, for a job,

as Shep Smith shocked his network, Bullshit Mountain, and his Pub Party, (one and the same), by reporting some actual facts on his FOX News(?) show.

Fox News' Shep Smith bucked his network's conservative ideology by taking on Republicans who are pressing Obama on Iraq. The president has faced pressure to take aggressive action in response to the extremist Islamist insurgency that has seized two Iraqi cities and is bearing down on Baghdad.
"Are we about to be drawn back into a conflict in Iraq?" Smith asked. "The same people who 12 years ago told us this will be quick, this will be easy, this will be inexpensive, they will see us as liberators, it's the right thing to do, are now telling us, 'It's the right thing to do.' What's the endgame? Who's thought this through?"
Smith argued the Iraq war provided a valuable history lesson: the George W. Bush administration led the U.S. into a war that exacted a heavy toll on all sides of the conflict for many years.
Talking Points Memo notes that Smith later told Fox News' Chris Wallace that he hasn't forgotten "being bamboozled" by the Bush administration's justification for invading Iraq. Wow! The voice of reason on FOX? Rupert Murdoch is gonna be PISSED!
At least GW's Mission was Accomplished. Oil went from $14/barrel, to over $140. Who da thunk? All it took was trillions from US taxpayers, thousands dead and wounded, and the American economy being trashed, while destabilizing the Mideast. Thanks again, GW and GOP. You should be SO proud...

Friday, June 13, 2014

As war returns to Iraq,

after the Bushies totally wrecked the govt and infrastructure, we see the Shiites and Sunnis at it again, as they have been for over 2500 years. Hopefully, Obama will keep the US out, although the chicken hawks of the GOP, who've never met a war they didn't like, urge him to jump back into the morass they created, when GW and The Dick paid some of their buddies to wreck the country, and others to rebuild it, with HUGE 'no-bid' contracts. Surprise! The price of oil (the Bush family business) went up over a thousand per cent, while Haliburton stock and profits went 'off the chart'. The obvious solution would be to divide the country into it's 3 major religious/geographical areas, with the Kurds taking the north, the Sunnis the west and the Shiites in the south. They'll still fight, cuz that's what religious fanatics do, be we don't need to get sucked into it, no matter what FOX and the Pubs (one and the same) would love to see. It's gives them justification for the HUGE, bloated military they love to fund.

Extra, Extra, Read all about it.

This just in, from FOX.  - FOX NEWS FIRST: The more they see Hillary, the less they like her

Stay tuned, for all the 'Breaking News', from Bullshit Mountain, where the sheep go, to stay 'informed'.

SURPRISE!

The Iraqi 'Army', is throwing down their uniforms and weapons, leaving tanks, artillery and all types of weaponry for the advancing enemy, after the disastrous 'Oops, No WMD's' fiasco of GW, 'The Dick', and rest of the Repub Chicken Hawks, who spent trillions of US dollars in their misguided fiasco. Now the shit REALLY hits the fan as the US finally decides to cut our losses (hopefully) and let the religious nuts fight it out. Duh, who woulda thunk this could happen? Thanks again, Pubs, who  accuse Obama of 'napping', as someone else always has to clean up THEIR messes...

I get SO sick of their crap,

and now it's only gonna get worse, as one of the FEW Pubs who would even consider negotiation and compromise was bushwhacked by a TeaBagger. They bitch cuz the economy isn't healing fast enough, after THEY totally wrecked it. They bitch about Obama bringing home a US soldier, after they bitched about him NOT doing it. They bitch about problems with the VA after they totally overloaded it with victims from their stupid wars. The good news? They're now UNelectable in 2016, cuz being 'Far Right' isn't conservative enough for them.  At least there's a silver lining, as they feed on themselves....

My tall daughter and her tall hubby,

sent this, and it's pretty good. Problems only us tall people understand.

Georgie's Big Adventure,

continues to wreak havoc on the world. The (Oops, No WMD's) Iraq war, by GW and 'The Dick' isn't over, as that part of the world continues to be destabilized, after the Repub war to pump up the price of oil, by attacking the 'oil basket of the world', continues to provide religious nuts with a reason to kill each other.

Al Qaeda-inspired militants seized effective control Wednesday of Saddam Hussein's hometown of Tikrit, expanding their offensive closer to the Iraqi capital as soldiers and security forces abandoned their posts following clashes with the insurgents.
Fighters from the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant took control a day earlier of much of Mosul, Iraq's second-largest city, in a major blow to the authority of the country's Shiite government. An estimated half a million residents fled the economically important city.

Thanks again, Pubs, for all you've done for (to) us...

Good news, bad news,

as Eric Cantor was defeated by ultra-rightwinger David Brat, even though Cantor was Majority leader and outspent Brat 25-1. The good news? If the Pubs continue down this road, as it looks like they will, they will be totally unelectable in 2016. The bad news? In the interem, we're gonna see even more gridlock in Washington, as Cantor was one of the FEW Pubs who would even consider negotiation/compromise, and we see what happened to him. The Republican Party is a dinosaur, on it's last legs, BUT causing a huge mess in it's death throes, as the Tea Party has hijacked a once proud, logical political organization.

QUOTATION OF THE DAY

"The results tonight will move the party further to the right, which will marginalize us further as a national party."

REPRESENTATIVE PETER KING, Republican of New York, on the House majority leader's defeat in a Virginia primary.

Same old crap from the Pubs...

Someday, after they figure out how to appeal to a broader swath of the electorate, Republicans will probably be embarrassed by how much time they have spent making it harder for Americans to vote. For now, though, the beat just goes on. In a misguided effort to hold on to power despite an ever-shrinking base of older white voters, Republican lawmakers around the country continue to impose all sorts of barriers to the ballot box.
One of the most egregious examples is happening in Ohio, a critical swing state in presidential elections and the scene of many recent disenfranchisement attempts.

In their 'win at any cost' campaign, wherever they perceive an advantage, the Pubs are doing all they can to 'block the vote', by imposing new barricades to voting. They should be SO proud...

Have played a LOT

of golf in my life, and only broken 80 four times. BUT, it's been twice this month, and had my best EVER today, with a 77. Hard to appreciate, unless you're a golfer. An honest 77 is kinda tough to do, and the crazy thing? It coulda been a 74, real easy, but didn't get any breaks...

Anyone who wants to know more

about Bowe Bergdahl, who (maybe) desserted, and was captured by the Taliban, oughta read this 'Rolling Stone' article about 'America's Last Prisoner of War', from the June 7, 2012 issue. Lotta stuff I'm sure you didn't know.

Same old crap from the Pubs

Four months ago, Senator John McCain said he would support the exchange of five hard-core Taliban leaders for the release of Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl. “I would support,” he told CNN. “Obviously I’d have to know the details, but I would support ways of bringing him home".
But the instant the Obama administration actually made that trade, Mr. McCain, as he has so often in the past, switched positions for maximum political advantage. “I would not have made this deal,” he said a few days ago. Suddenly the prisoner exchange is “troubling” and “poses a great threat” to service members. Hearings must be held, he said, and sharp questions asked.
This hypocrisy now pervades the Republican Party and the conservative movement. When they could use Sergeant Bergdahl’s captivity as a cudgel against the administration, they eagerly did so, loudly and in great numbers.

Same crap from the same people. When Obama didn't bring home the only captive, they bitched, but when he did they bitched louder. Maybe they have an agenda?

Huge anniversary today

70 years after of D-day, that was the turning point of WWII. I can't imagine being there, with all the death and destruction, but that was what it took, to defeat the Nazis. The vets who did it, like my dad and Carol's, are about gone, but we owe them, for the life we enjoy and take for granted. Hard to imagine,  Hitler, and his world, was only 70 years ago? Bottom line, war is hell, and you only do it when you HAVE to. Not like GW did, in a war based on lies, for the economic gain of his Big Oil buddies. Sickening...

Has anyone else noticed,

that 'Bergdahl', the latest Pub 'disaster', is a lot like 'Benghazi'? The big difference? Benghazi is total bullshit. The kind the Pubs love to 'catapult', as GW said. I don't agree with the Bergdahl exchange, but who knows what the all the facts are. Am willing to wait, but, at first glance, I don't like exchanging 5 Taliban commanders for one desserter. We'll see...

Tuesday, June 03, 2014

We had a 'wake' yesterday,

for our buddy Buggs. Something he would have enjoyed. Scott, Dave and I played 18 holes, and drank beer, in his memory. Seems Buggs passed out, from low blood sugar, (not the first time it happened) but didn't have his Life Alert on him, and never woke up. His 15 year old daughter found him on the kitchen floor. Buggs had just worked with Scott and Dave last week, even though he had lost a foot to diabetes, and it was looking like he might have to have his other foot amputated. In typical Bugg's fashion, he planned to have the Dr. freeze it and then planned to use it as shark bait, fishing in the gulf, and make a 'killer' Utube video, where I'm sure he'd laugh his ass off, while reeling in the shark. That's Buggs in a nutshell. Gonna miss him.

Monday, June 02, 2014

As I've said before,

I don't often agree with the Pubs, but, when I look at the prisoner exchange, involving 5 Taliban commanders, vs one desserter, I think it's totally wrong. No gray area here. What are they thinking?

Again, my blog led the national news,

as I compared the accidental outing of the CIA head in Afg, compared to the intentional outing of Valerie Plame, by the Bushies.

Plame was outed by members of George W. Bush’s administration in 2003 after her husband. former ambassador Joe Wilson, was critical of the White House and Iraq war. In a July 2003 column, journalist Robert Novak, citing two senior administration officials, noted that Plame was a CIA operative.
Deputy Secretary of State Richard Armitage admitted to first revealing Plame's name. And Novak confirmed that former President George W. Bush's political strategist, Karl Rove, was the second source confirming the information.
"It all comes down to intent. What happened with me, my name was intended to be leaked in retaliation against my husband who was a fierce critic the Bush administration and the Iraq war," Plame said.
Plame said she misses her job, which involved halting the proliferation of nuclear weapons and recruiting people to be U.S. spies.
"His covert career, as mine was, is finished," she said of the official in Afghanistan, pushing adamantly that he should leave the country immediately for his own safety.
No one was punished for leaking Plame's CIA role to the media. Scooter Libby, the chief of staff to then-Vice President Dick Cheney, was convicted of perjury, obstruction and lying to the FBI about the leak. President George W. Bush later commuted Libby's 30-month prison sentence.

The vanishing cry of 'Repeal It'

It was supposed to be so easy this election year for Republican congressional candidates. All they would have to do was shout “repeal Obamacare!” and make a crack about government doctors and broken websites, and they could coast into office on a wave of public fury. The failure of the Affordable Care Act was simply assumed.
But it has not quite worked out that way. The government website was fixed, and 8.1 million people managed to sign up for insurance through the exchanges. An additional 4.8 million people received coverage through Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program. Three million people under the age of 26 were covered by their parents’ plans. Though the law itself has never been widely popular, most people say they like its component parts, and a large majority now says it wants the law improved rather than repealed.

SO, does this mean the Pubs will have to be FOR something, instead of just being AGAINST everything? Wow. What a concept...

As I've said here before,

it's not often I agree with the Pubs, BUT, I think this latest prisoner exchange, 5 Taliban fighters for a US soldier, is totally WRONG, in so many ways. I don't claim to know all the facts, and am keeping an open mind, but this just doesn't seem right.

I've known a LOT of 'characters' in my life,

but not many as flamboyant and likable as Kevin Manning, or 'Buggs', as we all knew him. The original 'gentle giant', Buggs was about 6'6" and well over 300 lbs, without a bit of fat on him. One of the strongest guys I've ever known, whenever he'd shake my hand, I'd just hope he didn't crush it, cuz he totally could have. Buggs was diagnosed with diabetes several years ago, but didn't take his meds or take care of himself, until it was too late. He lost about half of his weight, and one of his feet, to the insidious disease, and last night, lost his life. His daughter found him on the kitchen floor. He'd just spent the last week working with our buddy Scott, up in Wyoming, and, in one of their last conversations, said, 'I don't think this new medicine is working,' after the Dr. put him a new type of insulin. Thinking back, I have SO many Buggs memories, as he worked for me and with me, several times, had innumerable poker games we went to Canada fishing together. On his first trip to Canada, Scott, Dave and Buggs and I walked into a crowded diner, just over the border, late at night, and this giant of a man looked around and spoke loudly into the crowd. "Any of y'all speak English here?" What I'll always remember about him, first, is that he was always 'up', laughing and smiling, no matter what was going on in his life, which was kinda difficult sometimes, but he loved to play 'Buggsy Claus, in his Santa costume, for the kids. Am gonna miss him. Have known a lot of people in my life, but Buggs was truly 'an original.'

As I spoke with a buddy,

we were trying to understand the Repub brain, and agreed that it doesn't make a lot of sense. He pointed out that 2 of the Pub heroes are Grover Norquist, who has most Pubs 'by the balls', cuz they signed a 'no tax increase EVER, no matter what'. BUT, the Pubs biggest hero, (although he was obviously addled by Alzheimers during his later years), raised taxes ELEVEN times. Just like Benghazi vs Iraq (Oops no WMD's). Guess which one they're all upset about? They claim to be 'pro-education', but fight the findings of 97% of climatologists and slash education budgets while spending lavishly on weapons systems the military says it doesn't want or need. You can choose logic and rationality, OR the Pub party. Not both....
