Interesting news coverage,
on Colorado pot legalization. On ALL the major TV nat'l news shows this morning and yesterday, with mostly positive stories, as the rollout was very smooth. Was glad to see the people in line looked 'normal' like it could have been any sporting event or mall opening, with all ages of (legal) people represented. I didn't like the media's 'overreaching' in an attempt to 'present both sides; by interviewing an 'expert', Dr Christian Thurow, who quoted a bunch of dubious stats (pot impairs brain development, 1 in 6 juveniles who try it will become addicted, etc), that aren't supported by legitimate studies, BUT, he was featured on several networks. I'm sure he'll be the lead story at FOX if they ever cover the event. The Denver Post had MANY articles, with one of them saying, 'You can get a contact high just from reading all the marijuana articles in the Post'. Was also interesting to see all the out of staters (over half the customers) who made the trip, as several said, "I'm staying!'. My main concern has been the message to young people, BUT, you can't make laws for adults based on that, or alcohol and cigarettes would be illegal and a jailable offense. Like I said, we'll look back on this someday, after the rest of the country catches up to Colorado and say, 'What took so long?'
