Saw 'Nebraska', yesterday

Either Bruce Dern is a great actor, or he just played himself, as a crotchety old fart. Enjoyed it, for the most part, but was maybe expecting too much after all the hype. Ten minute standing ovation at Cannes Film Festival? An unflattering, but somewhat realistic look at rural Nebraska, as several of the scenes hit a little 'too close to home', esp the windswept prairie cemetery. The rolling hills, abandoned farmhouse and small town taverns were all too familiar. Black and white was the perfect medium for it. Did have a great theme song, that really fit. You could tell the film maker was very familiar with his subjects and environment. Not sure of any 'lesson' from it. Will be interesting to see how it does at the Academy Awards.

Yahoo…Dotard’s Big Beautiful Diesel Deal pissed off Ukraine and most of the world, plus well over half of Congress and the US, BUT, it helped his buddy Putin and his partners in Big Oil, sooo, we can see where the dick’s priorities are.

  President Donald Trump’s diesel deal with Russia would supply the global market with 4.8 million metric tons, or nearly 36 million barrels total.  This is equivalent to a little more than a single day of global demand.  The U.S. is a net diesel exporter so it does not need Russian supply, said Andy Lipow, president of Lipow Oil Associates. Goldman Sachs estimated the initial Russian release would only reduce wholesale diesel prices by $1 to $2 per barrel, which is currently at approximately $200/barrel.
