I can remember, when a 3-day weekend.
was SO great. Now, not so special, but 'back in the day',Labor Day was YUUGE. We spent about 12-14 Labor Days at Lake Powell, on Al's 'Boatel' houseboat, and had a fantastic time, as the kids had the last few days of summer, 'on the beach and in the water'. After a few days, ice, beer and gasoline was running low, so we'd have to go the the nearest marina, usually Bullfrog or Hall's Landing and 'stock up', including ice cream and then go back to fishing, skiing, eatin' and drinkin', music, campfires and watching the 'super clear' night skies.
Then, on the last day, long ride home, crossing Bullfrog Bay, we'd have a vote. Who REALLY has to get back, to school or work?' And we'd turn around, for one last day, cuz no one wanted to go home.
"Those were the days, my friend, we thought they'd never end"........
Lake Powell, with Al's houseboat and ski boat. Wow, so many 'good times' and adventures.
