While the rightingnuts are dreaming of The Donald in the White House,

which would be an absolute nightmare for the US AND the world, I'd like to stick a pin in their ludicrous 'balloon of hope', with this from the Denver Post this morning.
The GOP faces an uphill struggle when it comes to getting 270 electoral votes and winning the White House. Although there is a tendency to blame Trump for this, it’s not entirely (or even mostly) his fault: Romney carried traditional Republican states, and that's all, in 2012. What that means in practical terms, states like Georgia, Arizona, North Carolina, Virginia and Colorado are moving toward Democrats at varying degrees of speed. Meanwhile, there is no such movement toward Republicans. (Minnesota and Wisconsin are getting slightly more Republican with each passing presidential election, but it is a very slow change.) Consider this: Seventeen states plus the District of Columbia have voted for the Democratic presidential nominee in every election since 1992. That accounts for 242 electoral votes. Meanwhile, 13 states have voted for the Republican nominee in each of those six elections. Add them up, and you get 102 electoral votes. It’s just math.

The Republicans realized this and had a post-mortem  'autopsy', after the last election, and vowed to 'change'. BUT, they got worse, as their Far Right Wing took over in the primaries.
Bottom line, can you say 'President Hillary?'
