Trump questions Jewish loyalty

As a 75-year-old Jewish voter, I continue to be appalled at President Donald Trump’s complete ignorance. Other than a having a Jewish son-in-law and a daughter who has converted, neither of which represent the values expressed in Judaism, Trump’s lack of understanding of why the majority of Jews are Democrats is amazing. Our patriotism goes far beyond flying the flag; it is ingrained in the way we behave in society and treat and respect our fellow human beings. The values we have, the legislation we support and the candidates we vote for care about education, care about the environment, care about equality, care about health care, care about the rights of women and care about our neighbors whether next door, across the country or across an ocean.

Jews, although not monolithic, vote Democratic because we understand that a society filled with love, respect, equality and understanding creates a far richer country than one based on greed, guns and ignorance. Trump is a bully and a liar; his criticism of Jews, and how they vote, is disgusting but so typical of him and his enablers.
