Trump Says Supporters Who Attacked Capitol Were Simply On An 'Innocent Journey'

President Donald Trump said his supporters who stormed the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, were simply going on “an innocent journey.”
“I’d like to see them compensated,” Trump said during a cabinet meeting at Camp David on Friday, referring to his supporters who were charged for their role in the Capitol attack, only to be later pardoned by Trump.
He also wants permanent protection from any IRS inquiries, for him, his family and businesses.
